Monday morning than it has been
for years past . In fact but few
people remember to have seen it
higher. With all this the
county lost no bridges. We have
four covered bridges on yellow
river and if either of them were
damaged we haven’t heard of it.

eoed from day to day and Con¬

Cotton has been hauled from the
heart of Lithonia to Conyers this
week in order to get advantage of
the good market here.

ing when you do this.
Farmers should profit by the
lesson taught tliem last year with
regard to the cotton crop. As
long as cotton is made the surplus
crop it will bring good prices and
farming will pay. but should a
large crop be planted this year the
price ot cotton will sail back to
4 or 6 cents nnd mortgages and
bard times will be the result. It
is to be hoped, most earnestly,
that the cotton crop this year will
not be larger at any rate, than
that of 1899.
Mr J A Lifsey has a very sick child.
It has been suffering greatly weeks with
rheumatism for two or three
past. We hope it may soon recover.
Mrs. Ans Willingham died atlier
home in Atlanta Monday evening
last and the remains were brought to
Conyers Tuesday and intered in Hock
dale cemetery. She was a sister of
of Mrs. Pearce and Mrs Wood, of our
city, We extend sympathy to the
nereaved.
