Il l Were You Nuy Hoy 1 wou’dn’t h-t any other hoy get ahead of me in my studies. I would never make fun of cliil who are n< t weildrufsed. I wouldn’t go in the company of bad hoys who use had language I wouldn’t get sulky and pout whenever i couldn’t have my own way. I would see if I couldn’t be civil t 0 everybody and get people to like m( , j 1>v<)l p ( j keep n.y hands and lace clean and hair brushed without being told to do so. J would try to see the little tilings that i could do to help niy .riother, and do them without be¬ ing naked. I wouldn't conclude that I knew more than my father before I had been more than sixty miles away from home —Exchange. Don’t Grumble. Don’t be a grumbler. Some people contrive to get hold of tlie pricelv side of every tiling, to run agninst'all the sharp corners and find out a lithe disagreeable things. Half the strength spaet in grow 1 ing would often set things right.— You may as well make up your mind, to begin with, that no one ever found the world quite as he would have it, but you are to take your share of the troubles and bear bravely. You will be very to have burdens laid upon you belong to < tlipr people unless are a shirk yourm If : but don’t grumble. If the work needs do¬ ing, and you can doit, never mind the other person who ought to have done it and didn’t. Those workers who fill up the gapr, smooth away the rough spots ami up the jobs that others leave un¬ done'—they are the one peace-ma¬ kers and worth a regiment of growlers. Horrible Wreck. Perhaps the worst wreck record¬ ed by tiny railroad in the .South occurred on the Southern railway two miles north of McDonough last Saturday night at 10 o’clock. A passenger train from Macon to Atlanta ran into a wash out lit Camp creek culvert and 34 known dead have been taken from the wreck to date with the possibility of many others having lost their lives. All of the train crew, ex cf*pt tho flagman, lost their lives and all the passengers were killed except about eight who were for¬ tunate enough to be in the pnll mau car on the rear of the i 11 fa tod train. The details of the wreck have been talked throughout the country until everp one is famil liar with them, and all agree that no similar accident ever occurred in the south with such an appoll ing death rate All traffic on the Macon and Atlanta division of the Southern has been stopped and a large force of hands are at work rebuilding the tract across creek. rim mi «» g CTYl.tNH. -* ki IJAHJ H g ;C 4 Uec.tmmtn ARnATIC^. led Leadin t- 1 " t I,,*:., rs * ys fhiv biS C-ALL£Y ERHsl&l' f ------». | b ea-sat--— ^ NCNLEETJEkATAM I i * i t * '• f ****'V * Aii'*** '' !“j r- ** *> • S *s v» •••• C' a .Oi j«■ I * e x • § -• S '- I id THE to 'kC L'.
