Mr. T. F. Maddox was one of tllf

on the Southern railway last Batur
dav night, Mr. Maddox was reared

on December 90. 1W.0, in Rockdale

live at 77 Hampton street, He also
leaves several brothers, one of whom

the employ of the Atlanta hallway

live near Conyers His father is
dead, but bis mother is still living.
She lives with one of the brothers in
Rockdale county.
Mr. Maddox was a travelling snles
man for 'Good Luck Raking Powder.’
He was in the emplov of NV. NV. 1

who was the state agent for the Sou¬
thern Manufacturing company, of
Richmond, Va. M r. 1 parks was also
•ne of the victims of the wreck. He
went down to Macon NVednesday t<>
confer with his salesman and attend
to some business. They stopped to¬
gether a tho Grey bouse in Macon
and left for Vtlautn Saturday night
on the ill-fated 7:20 train.
The remains will be carried tut’on

The interment will take place out at
Smyrna campgrounds, the old family
cemetery.

Horrible Wreck.
Perhaps the worst wreck record¬
ed by tiny railroad in the .South
occurred on the Southern railway
two miles north of McDonough
last Saturday night at 10 o’clock.
A passenger train from Macon to
Atlanta ran into a wash out lit
Camp creek culvert and 34 known
dead have been taken from the
wreck to date with the possibility
of many others having lost their
lives. All of the train crew, ex
cf*pt tho flagman, lost their lives
and all the passengers were killed
except about eight who were for¬
tunate enough to be in the pnll
mau car on the rear of the i 11 fa tod
train. The details of the wreck
have been talked throughout the
country until everp one is famil
liar with them, and all agree that
no similar accident ever occurred
in the south with such an appoll
ing death rate All traffic on the
Macon and Atlanta division of
the Southern has been stopped and
a large force of hands are at work
rebuilding the tract across
creek.
