1IEHOLT ’ TION 8,
We, the committee appointed
by Salem Baptist church to draft
resolutions sacred to the memory
of Mrs. X.incy J Sammons, beg to
submit the following:
Nancy J Summons was married
to brother HR Sammons in the
year of our Lord 1870. She was
converted mid joined Salem Bap¬
tist church Aug. R0, 1800, died
Apr. *22, 1000, aged 42 years and
14 days.
The finger of God touched her
and she is now nsleep in Jesus.
Sister Sammons was a model
Christian, a faithful and devoted
wife, n loving and affectionate
mother and a friend to all.
It is sad indeed for such a one
to be absent from loved ones but
glorious to be present with God.
And ns she goes voyaging on the
unknown gen over which hsugs a
cloud of mystery, Jesus Christ is
her Captain, heaven her haven of
rest, her home a mansion beyond
tho skies. Wo mourn her depar¬
ture for we chilli greatly miss her,
but ’tis God who has bereft us,
therefore be it, by the church,
Resolved, That we bow in hum¬
ble submission to the will of Ilim
who doeth all things well.
Res< lvjd, That we sympathize
with the bereaved relatives and
especially the husband and chil¬
dren, in 1 his their sad and irrep¬
arable loss, which is her eternal
gain.
Resolved, That these resolutions
bespread upon our church book
and n copy be furnished the be¬
reaved family and also a copy be
sent to our comity papers for pub¬
lication.

Wholesome Advice.
My son fellow not in the foot
stops of the loafer and make no
example of him who is horn tired,
for verily I say unto thee, their

seats on the corner are all taken
