ceptionally bright and promising
and his friends expect much of
him in the future.

pects to reside in the future He
will ply his profession, law, vigor¬
ously in his new home and will
eventually carve out a splendid
success for himself in old Henry.
We commend him to the people of
that section ns an able young law¬
yer and gentleman.
On last Wednesday morning
Mr. Frank Butler sustained a third
painful accident to his right leg.
Within the past two years he has

dent was sustained while at the
Institute last Wednesday morn¬
ing. We regret the young man’s
misfortune and hope that he may
soon be able to get out again.

The marriage of Miss Florence
Penelope Austin and Mr. Diehard

Wednesday. January 2. was an event
of social magnitude in which a large
number of friends and acquaintan
ces bad been for some time deeply
interested. 'J'iie social position of
the contracting parties, combined
with tliei'- personal popularity serv¬
ed to make it the social event of the
season.
The ctiiircb was beautifully and ar¬
tistically decorated for the occasion
with sniitax. holly, cedar and white
flowers. A canopy of white mouse
line ornamented lavishly with smi
lax and white flowers was placed in
front of the altar. Under this the
two young lives, so fair in promise,
were indessoiubly united.
The bridal parry entered to the
strains of Meudelsslion’s wedding
march rendered by Miss Louise Mc
Calla,
Two dainty little flower girls, M iss

Tucker opened the floral gates, fol
lywed by the ushers, Messrs. H. Y.
McCord, C. K. Hailey, Walter Al¬
mand and A, D. Summers. Then the

The bride entered with tier maid of
honor, Miss Cora lelle Almand and
the groom with his best man. Dr.
Olin Weaver, of Macon.
The ceremony was briefly but im¬
pressively performed by Rev. M. L.
Troutman.
Miss Austin was dressed in white
silk motisseiine over white eatin and
bar veil held in place with emblem¬
atic orange blossoms. Her radient
loveliness never appeared t<» more
charming advantage than in her bri¬
dal robes. She carried an armful of
bride roses.
A more charming set of girls than
the attendants would be difficult to
find. They looked girlishly sweet
and fresh in white organdie. They

Miss Austin hits been one of the
most popular and admired young in¬
dies who lots ever left our communi¬
ty. Beautiful in feature ami dispo¬
