August 1st all parties owning dogs in Conyers will either have to pay a license of .$1.00 per dog or else yeild the dog up to the dep¬ uty marshal, who will after three days of grace, dispatch him to tie happy hunting ground . T h i s ordinance is designed to rid the city of the numerous worthless clogs that make night hideous and commit numerous depredations on the premisis of our helpless citizens. No man should buy a tag| for a sorry dog. If this is made the rule when the ordinance goes into effect on the first there will be but few'dogs left in Conyers. Nearly every man we have heard speak of the new ordinance favoi'9 it heartily. Those who own good dogs are perfectly willing to pay the license because it makes the dog family of the city more res¬ pectable and high-toned. The new law certainly w r orks no hardship and there is goad rea¬ son for such law.
