Conyers needs more residences.
A town can’t grow much in popu¬
lation unless she has houses for
people to live in. At this time
there is not a vacant house in the
town and wo know of families who
are unable to rent here for anoth
er year. If some of our citizens
who have old rusty dollars stored
away would haul them out and
put them into nice G or 7 room
cottages, costing 7 to 8 hundred
dollars it would help the town and
kelp them. Try it.
Mr. L. F. Scott has purchased
the Carrollton Free Press and will
go to Carrollton and take charge
of the paper next Monday. Mi¬

paper field. He labored in it years

The young society set of the city
has been considerably enlivened
by the arrival on Thursday last,
of % bevy of beautiful girls from
the neighboring towns, The young
ladies are in attendance upon a
house party given by Miss Sarah
Sue Langford whose excellent
'qualities as a hostess are well
known. Her elegant home on
South Avenue is well fitted for en
tertaining and with the entree of
her guests will prove a center of
attraction during the incoming
week.
Miss Langford is one or.the
belles of the younger society and
the visitors who compose her jolly
party are acknowledged leaders of
their respective circles. Recep¬
tions, telis, picnics and straw-rides
have been arranged in their boner
and nothing will be left undone to
contribute to their pleasure.
The young radies who are in at¬
tendance are, Misses Martha Fos¬
ter, Ida Stovall, Bessie Moore, and
Eva Winter of Madison, Nell Nor¬
ton of Gainesville, Eloise Moon
of McDonough, Annie Langford of
Atlanta and Arlene Almand of
