The year just closed is another mile post successfully passed by fie business people of Conyers and it is to their credit that no disas¬ ter has befell them in its passage. No failures have occurred to dis¬ turb the confidence or shake the faith of the people. Twelve months of prosper 911 s business leaves them in splendid condition to begin the Xew Year with a greater determination to merit the confidence and patronage of the people of this and surrounding counties. Eakes, Cashier. This, of course, is . one 0 f the most important business institutions in the city, It is a chartered institution and its offi¬ ces and directors are some of our very best and cleverest business ECU and citizens. They have attained, success in the business world by dint of economy and native ability. They have the cos. faience of the people and do a large business. 8. E. Charles B. Hudson, Dry Goods, Clothing and Notions, has built up a business of which he is ly proud. His patronage fies to his popularity. M.11. Plunket, General Mer¬ chant, has enjoyed a prosperous year His business has grown con¬ stantly from year to year and he has mr.de many friends. J. J. Langford & Sons, one of theoldwt firms in the city, has a reputation that guarantees its favor am ong the people. They do a large business. Thompson Stewart is building kp a good business. He now car res family groceries in addition to his other lines and is prosper¬ ing. Miss Ragland, Millinery, is a P n l'u ar 6tore. She enjoys a good patronage. He is well equipped and is accomplished in Ins line. Conyers is fortunate to have him. We know many other towns that are not so fortunate. P. G. Tucker, Warehouseman, Lumber dealer and Blacksmith, is dcing a splendid business. He is clever and has many friends. I. Ji. Langley, the clever young stock dealer, has many friends and patrons. He has few superi¬ ors as a judg« of good stock and he is making for hanseli a repu¬ tation in the Conyeis stock trade Marvin Lifsey, Liveryman, is doing a good busiuess and has bright prospect for the new year. Street & Huff, the hustling general merchants, are never to be left. They do a large business every year and expect to break the record in 1902. Hewlett, Reagan & Downs, a trio of clever gentlemen, consti¬ tute one of the best firms in the city and do a very large business. They are successors to the J. H Almand Co, J W. Carter will continue his shoe shop and will try to drive more tacks this year than ever be lore. Tucker & Almand will continue at their old stand. They do a large and profitable business and are active cotton buyers. Johnson, Goode & Huff, house furnisners, have a beautiful store; and a very large stock. They are clever fellows and make you feel at home, They expect to hustle this year. W.H. Lee & Sox, druggists, are doing a large business. They have an immense stock and a well arranged store. They expect to increase their volume of business this year. Lifsey & Wood, clever gentle men deal in fertilizers and buy cotton, They do a thriving bus iness. Hopkins & Medlock proprie tors of the cent store, aie new in business circles but it i9 that they are here to stay. Miss Bishop, Milliner, is doing splendid business and has good J. P, Tilley, dealer in fertili- zers and cotton buyer, has been long established in this line. He is also State agent for Schulz Pi¬ anos and Organs. The Galley Drug Co. has en¬ joyed a flattering business the past year and hopes for greater success during 1902. Gailey Dry Goods Co. has al¬ lowed no moss to grow around its place the past year and during the new year greater activity is hoped for. J. M. Gray will be glad to mend your shoes when they need it. He is a faithful worker and appreci¬ ates patronage. Jack Summers will continue to keep the Parlor Grocery Store at the top. He has enjoyed a good patronage the past year aud will try harder during 1902. Mrs. Cowan, Milliner, is ning success. A. D. Summers, the oldest dry goods man in Conyers, wears smile as a result of last business. He will push and upward this year. J. W. Hollingsworth , merchant, will be found at his stand this year with bright pects ahead. McElvany & Stovall will be new firm handling fertilizers hardware, buggies etc. They clever gentlemen and will do B. B. McDonald will keep market and grocery store up-to-date this year. He is well and will do better. G. A. Lucas will be found his old stand another year he is doing well. J. C. Stephenson, general chant, has enjoyed a large ness the past year and is ready his friends and customers He will also sell fertilizers this C. G. Turner, Livervman, tleman and cotton buyer will active during the new year and expects to do a good business. Sharp & King, stock dealers, are doing a fine business and their dealings are reaching into sur¬ rounding counties. Wallis & Still, Warehouse men and Lumber dealers will do a large busiuess this year. W. T. Stewart, warehouseman has had a profitable year and has a bright prospect before him. C. W. McDonald, family gro¬ ceries. will continue to serve his patrons and friends He deserves success. Plunket & Almand, Roller flouring mill, do a splendid busi¬ ness and please their patrons. Pirkle & Crumbley will do blacksmithing and manufacture buggies and wagons. They will do well. The Commercial Hotel will continue to please its many pat rons and grow in popular favor. If there are those we have failed to notice it was not intentional and we wish them well anyway.
