Mann, who lias held a re sponcible and lucrative position in the public Schools of Brunswick for some time past, has been with relatives in this county for two weeks. Prof. Mann is one of the best young instructors in the state and bis success has won for him a reputation of which lie may well be proud. Miss Nora Plunkett was with home people Sunday. Prof. S. V. Sanford, of Marietta, one of the most successful instructors of the State, and for several years principal of the Public Schools of Marietta, spent Sunday here with friends. Miss Lurline Langford, who has held a position in the school at Logausville during the past term, has arived in Con¬ yers and will prove quite an acquisition to the social life of the city. Mrs. J. A. Guinn visited her sister. Mrs. Peeples, in Lawrenceville, this week Miss Mattie Shipp, of Social Circle, has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Chick, this week. Miss Florrie Jean Lee left last Tues¬ day for Talbotton where she will spend the summer. Mrs. Nonie 'Waldrop, has been quite sick several days. We wish lier a speedy recovery. Mrs. J. W. Scott, who lias been very sick for a week or more, is now very much better. Mrs. Walter Wood and children, of Winder, spent this week with relatives here. Mr. E. C. Belcher's name was added to our subscription list this week. We are glad to have him as one of our val¬ ued readers. Mr. John M. Granade is one of our now readers. He gave us bis name Sat¬ urday and we were glad to get it. Mrs. M. E. Hollingsworth will accept our thanks for a renewal of subscription to the Wefkly-Banner. Mr. J. S. Mayfield is a new subscriber to the Weekly-Banner. We are glad to have him on our list. S. E. Brodnax, Esq., of Couyers,sends the Tribune a check to pay for his paper three years. Thomas and Wilson Malcom, of Atlanta, spent Sunday here with their parents Simpkms-Langford The marriage of Miss Fleeta Simpkins and Mr. Clyde Langford was solemniz¬ ed last Wednesday at (5 o’clock at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Wil¬ liam Harris Simpkins in this city. The ceremony was performed by Rev. B. J. W. Graham in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The front parlor in which the marriage took place , was attractively decorated in green; palms and ferns forming the chief decorations. To the soft, sweet strains of Mendel s-lions wedding marc)), rendered by Miss Dona Bailey, the wedding party entered tlie parlor, tirst coming the two bridesmaids, M isses Florede Tucker and Irma Langford. The groom and liis best man,Mr. Robert Almand, entered, next, followed by the bride and her maid of honor, Miss Sarah Sue Lpngford The bride was unusuolly handsome in a stylish traveling suit of castor cloth, strapped with bands of stitched satin. She carried a lovely boquet of bride roses and ferns tied with streams of white satin ribon. The maid of honor and brides maid were prettily gowned in dresses of sheer white material elaborately tucked and lace-trimmed. The boquet of the maid of honor was a counterpart of that of the bride, bride roses and ferns, while those of tlie bride’s maids were of pink carnations and ferns. The bridal couple received a large number of handsome presents among which was an exquisite set of China from the parefits of the groom, From the members of the family and friends were received various pieces of silverware, china and cut glass. The bride is an attractive,Jlovable y 0U11 g ■woman who numbers her friends tbe score- The groom is one of the city’s most prominent and popular citi zens and young business men, who gives ample promise of achieving suc cess in life, Tlie happy couple left for Northern and Eastern points of interest on the 6:20 train immediately after the cere¬ mony and will be away for several weeks.
