When Cook asked for his pay, Edwards shot him dead. Ward, ot Grayson, Ky., committed suicide at Attala, Ala., to-day, by taking morphine. Ho was formerly a wealthy and in¬ fluential citizen of Grayson, but met with a reverse of fortune which caused him to commit the rash deed. Near Jasper, Tenn., to>dav Lafayette Rogers, while, aud a negro named Pocahontas Leu, quarreled over the ownership ot a shovel,which resulted in Rogers blowing the negvoo’s brains out with a shot-gun, This is the filth murder that has oc¬ curred in that section within six months.
