MP holds fast pitch softball camp
The 2008 Bulldogs FastPitch Camp was held June 7 at the Mary Persons High School softball field.
There were 30 campers, 12 current players (college and high school) and coaches from the recre
ation department, middle school and high school. Although it was an extremely hot day, everyone
had a great time, said coach Marcy Sanders. Hitting, throwing, catching and pitching drills were
some of the concentrated areas. Lunch was held inside the Bulldog house to "cool off." A scrim
mage game ended the day where the girls could show off what they had learned. Each camper re
ceived a T-shirt, a DQ gift card and watermelon. Coach Ronnie Shipman and Coach Sanders were
very pleased with the turnout and say they will offer another camp next year. They would like to
thank all the parents and players who supported the camp. The MP Bulldogs softball team will host
the PawPrint Classic softball tournament July 14-17.
