Backlot Players forming
Rose Theater guild
The Backlot Players, Inc. is hosting a
"Build the Guild" reception Sunday, Aug.
17, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rose Theater.
Anyone interested in becoming a part of
the Rose Theater Guild is invited to this
event. Food and drink will be provided.
Most community theaters have a guild.
This group is made up of people who sup
port community theater, but have no desire
to be on the stage. They take care of the
box office, ushering, publicity, membership
and set building assistance, along with
house maintenance, fundraising and assist
ing with costumes, props and the like. In
the 14-year history of The Backlot Players
these duties have been done by members
who are also involved with producing
shows. Along with learning lines, they
have had to help build sets, make costumes
and procure props, and make sure the the
ater and lobby are clean and neat for our
patrons. In order to continue to present
quality theater entertainment, Backlot
Players now must ask for your help. Join
in this venture, make some new friends,
and find out how much fun community
theater can be!
