TIMBER SALE
The Georgia Forestry Commission is accepting bids for a clear-out
harvest of planted and natural pine timber on approximately 255 acres
at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Monroe County. The
estimated volumes for harvest are approximately 9,025 tons of pine
pulpwood, 9,536 tons of pine chip-n-saw, and 1,675 tons of pine
sawtimber. This will be lump-sum sale, with 100% of bid due at
contract execution. Payment should be made to the Georgia Forestry
Commission. The bid opening will be held at the Monroe County
Forestry Unit (481 Cabiness Rd., Hwy 83 N. Forsyth. GA. 31029) at
11:00 a.m. on Thursday. September 25, 2008. All bids must be
submitted on a Forestry Commission Timber Bid Form. A timber bid
form and information packet may be picked up at the Monroe County
Forestry Unit. An escrow check in the amount of 5% of the total bid
amount is to be submitted with the bid and mailed or brought to the
Monroe County Forestry Unit by the date and time of bid opening.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED
that on the 3rd day of October,
2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the law office
of Haygood, Lynch, Harris, Melton
& Watson, 87 North Lee Street,
Forsyth, Georgia 31029, a public
hearing will be held before a desig
nated hearing officer with respect to
the proposed plan of financing in
volving the issuance from time to
time in one or more series by the
Development Authority of Monroe
County (the “Issuer”) of not to ex
ceed $500,000,000 in aggregate
principal amount outstanding at any
one time (in addition to any other
obligations previously issued to fi
nance or refinance the Facilities
hereinafter referred to or any obli
gations issued by the Issuer or
Oglethorpe Power to refund such
obligations) of its pollution control
revenue obligations (the “Bonds”),
the proceeds of which are to be
used to finance or refinance, in
whole or in part, the costs of the (i)
the acquisition, construction and in
stallation of the undivided interest
of Oglethorpe Power Corporation
(An Electric Membership Corpora
tion) ("Oglethorpe Power”) in cer
tain generating facilities, air or wa
ter pollution control facilities and
sewage or solid waste disposal fa
cilities, (the “Facilities”) at the Plant
Scherer coal-fired steam electric
generating facilities located on
Georgia Highway 87, approximately
4 miles south of Juliette, Georgia,
in Monroe County, Georgia ("Plant
Scherer”), by refunding all or a por
tion of certain prior outstanding ob
ligations issued for the benefit of
Oglethorpe Power, (ii) all or a por
tion of the cost of Oglethorpe Pow
er’s undivided interest in certain
solid waste disposal facilities con
stituting part of Plant Scherer (the
“Project”), and (iii) issuance of the
Bonds as they relate to the Project.
The Bonds will not constitute an
indebtedness or obligation of the
State of Georgia or of any county,
municipal corporation or political
subdivision thereof, but will be pay
able solely from the revenues de
rived from Oglethorpe Power and
pledged to the payment thereof.
The Issuer will not conduct any
performance audit or perform
ance review with respect to each
series of the Bonds as such
terms are described in Section
36-82-100, Official Code of Geor
gia Annotated.
Any person interested in the pro
posed issuance of the Bonds pur
suant to the plan of financing or the
location or the nature of the facili
ties proposed to be financed or refi
nanced from the proceeds of the
sale of the Bonds may appear and
be heard.

accuracy test of the direct recording electronic (DRE) voting system
and the optical scan voting system will be conducted in the Office of
the Probate Court at the Monroe County Courthouse, Main Floor,

been tested and prepared for the November 4, 2008, General Election.
