Incidents
The Forsyth Police
Department reported the fol
lowing incidents Sept. 11-
15:
Sept. 11
•5:50 p.m. Maj. Perry was
dispatched to the Waffle
House on N. Lee St. in refer
ence to a disorderly person.
The man had been banned
from Waffle House for
yelling and cursing at
patrons. He appeared to be
drunk and had also threat
ened a woman. He was
arrested and transported to
the Monroe County Jail.
Sept. 12
•7:40 a.m. A complainant
said a woman has been buy
ing cocaine and telling the
dealer that the victim will
pay for the drugs. The drug
dealer has threatened to
harm the victim if he does
not pay.
Sept. 13
•11:15 a.m. Maj. Perry
stopped a grey car on 1-75
for going 89 mph. The man
said the car had been rented
to him for the last two
months. However, he was
not supposed to drive the
car because it had not been
rented directly to him. He
had a suspended license and
was arrested and transport
ed to the Monroe County
Jail.
Sept. 14
•7:07 p.m. Officer Barnett
stopped a Chevy Suburban
for expired registration. The
driver said her tag had been
expired since January 2006
because she didn’t have
enough money to get a new
tag. The address on her
license had also been incor
rect for more than six
months. She said she didn’t
have the money for a new
license, either.

11-18. An arrest means a
person has been charged
with a crime but the law
considers them innocent
until proven guilty:

•Officer Brown was dis
patched to Ingles in refer
ence to forgery. The com
plainant said a cashier was
getting ready to go off shift
when she saw what she
believed to be a fake $100
bill. The cashier said she
couldn’t remember what the
suspect looked like. Copies
of the bill were made and
the money was taken to the
Forsyth Police Department.
The Monroe County
Sheriff’s Office reported the
following incidents Sept. 4-
13:
Sept. 4
•3:21 p.m. A High Road
resident said a vehicle ran
her off the road. She said
she was travelling down
Mays Road heading towards
Rocky Creek Road when a
Federal Express truck came
around a curve and caused
her to run off the road. She
said the truck didn't really
cross into her lane, but
Mays Road is a dirt road
and because the truck was
traveling at a fast speed,
she ran off the road in order
to avoid hitting the truck.
Deputy Leggett was contact
ed by the manager of Fed
Ex and told that none of his
drivers had any deliveries
near Mays Road and only
two drivers had deliveries
within five miles of
Johnstonville Road. The
drivers were questioned, but
both said they didn't go
near Mays Road on that
day. The manager said each
Fed Ex branch is operated
as a separate company, and
therefore he does not know
which branch has which
routes, or which branch
could have been in the area

•4:03 a.m. Gregory

failure to maintain lane

•12:58 p.m. Deputy C.
Landers was dispatched to
Mary Persons High School
in reference to theft. Three
students' cars, which were
in the student parking lot
closest to Montpelier Road,
had been broken into. Two
of the students said their
windows had been rolled up
and their doors locked
before the thefts occurred.
There were signs of forced
entry and considerable dam
age had been done to all
three cars. Each car had
items stolen that were val
ued at more than $100.
Fingerprints were taken
from the cars, but no other
evidence was found.
Sept 10
•2:15 p.m. Lt. Freeman III
was dispatched to the post
office in Bolingbroke in ref
erence to a woman receiving
harassing phone calls. The
complainant said the father
of her child had been
ordered by the court not to
have contact with her, but
the victim said he had been
in violation of this several
times. She said the suspect
had called her at least 20
times since July 30 with the
last call being made Sept.
10. She said he also leaves
messages on her voicemail
and the suspect has gone to
her former place of employ
ment and believes that one
of the reasons she was "let
go" was because of this.
Contact was made with the
suspect and he said he had
been told by his lawyer to
contact her about the wel
fare of his child. Lt.
Freeman told him no lawyer
could disobey a court order
and to quit contacting the

•1:08 a.m. Shawnya

complainant. The woman
was told to contact her
lawyer and advise him of
the man's violation of court
order.
•3:23 p.m. A Mary Persons
student said someone called
her cell phone and threat
ened to kill her. The threat
was on her voicemail and
sounded like a female. The
girl said she didn't know
who may have threatened
her and there are no sus
pects at this time.

•3:45 p.m.Deputy Renfroe
was dispatched to the High
Falls sheriff’s office substa
tion in reference to an alter
cation with a knife. The
complainant said while driv
ing on High Falls Road he
saw a man riding a bike
with whom he has had an
ongoing feud. The victim
asked the suspect if he was
going to beat him up, and
that's when the suspect
pulled the knife on him. The
victim said he has heard
from people that the suspect
has been threatening to
physically harm him and
this is an ongoing problem
between the two. The victim
said Lamar County has
responded to several inci
dents between them.

•3:40 p.m.Deputy W.
Jackson and Sgt. M. Hull
were dispatched to a civil
dispute on Spelman Road.
The complainant said her
stepdaughter hit her
because she was upset
about having to leave a
friend's home in Macon. She
said her stepdaughter might
be using drugs and does not
want to listen to her. The
stepdaughter said her moth
er gets on her nerves, so she
hits her. The complainant
said she wanted her step
daughter to leave the house
and not return.
