During the summer
Culloden Public Library
offered a reading program
for students to encourage
them to keep reading. The
theme was “Reading is Out
of the World.” Each student
chose a planet to reach
while reading. To help
them get there the readers
were awarded 10 million
miles per book they read.
Over the summer, 17 chil
dren participated in the
program and read a total
of 188 books. Terri
Whitehead read 35 books,
making her the top reader.
Terri wants to be a teacher
when she grows up. One of
her favorite books is “Dog
Heaven” by Cynthia
Rylant. Terri loves to read
and would love to travel to
California and Florida. She
lives in Culloden with her
mother and five siblings.
Terri visits the library reg
