Trick-or-treat on
the square
Join lots of other
ghosts, goblins, super
heroes and princesses
from 5 - 6:30 p.m. as
they make their way
around the streets of the
Forsyth courthouse
square for Halloween
trick-or-treating.
MP senior night
All senior football
players, cheerleders and
band members will be
recognized prior to the
Spalding County game
at 7 p.m. at Dan Pitts
Stadium at Mitchell
Field.
Country Oaks
ribbon cutting
Country Oaks Farm &
Pet Supply will host a
ribbon-cutting at 3 p.m.
Friday. Country Oaks is
located at 5967 Hwy 41
South in Bolingbroke.
5th Annual Monroe
County 4-H
Poinsettia Sale
The Monroe County 4-
H will be selling red,
white and pink poinset-
tias for the Christmas
season. They are in full
bloom and gorgeous.
Orders will be taken
Oct. 10-31. The large
poinsettias are approxi
mately three feet tall
and $18, and small are
approximately one & a
half feet tall and $12.
Sleeves for the pots will
be included in the price.
Pick up dates will be
Dec. 4 & 5 at the 4-H
office, 90 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Dr., from 8
a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 -5
p.m. All proceeds benefit
Monroe County 4-H pro
gram. Payment must be
made at time of order.

Story Tellin’
Jarrell Plantation
State Historic Site near
Juliette will hold a spe
cial event on Saturday,
Nov. 1 from 10:30 a.m. —
3:30 p.m. The tradition
al syrup cookoff was an
important fall event on
middle Georgia farms
and featured family and
community getting
together for work and
play. This program
brings the event back to
life with demonstrations
of the sugar cane mill,
syrup kettle, woodstove
cooking, spinning and
story telling.
Admission to the
“Syrup Makin’ and Story
Tellin’,” is $4 for adults,
$3.50 for seniors, $2.50
for children ages 6-17,
and ages 5 and under
are free of charge.

Juliette Opry
The Magnolia
Medicine Men from
Hawkinsville will be the
headliner at the Juliette
Opry Saturday night.
They will be performing
acoustic based light
rock, folk and
Americana music. They
performed last Saturday
at the Green Tomato
Festival. The show
starts at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is free and
local entertainment will
perform before the show.

Book club meets
The Monroe County
Library’s book club
meets again at 6 p.m.on
Tuesday, Nov. 1.
This month, the club is
reading "Brick Lane" by
Monica Ali.

“Oliver” opens
The Backlot Players’
present “Oliver,” Nov.
