I work for Monroe County Building
Department. I have been with the
county almost 5 years.

attend Paran Baptist. Our family is
active in both Boy Scouts - Troop 51
and Cub Scouts - Pack 51. Our fami
ly is also a Monroe County
Recreation Soccer family. Go

How long in Monroe County? We
have been in Monroe County since
2000.

Why do you want to serve on
the Board of Education? For the
children- To me, that is what the
BOE is for. I want to make sure that
Monroe County stays on track with
the goal that “OUR” children get the
best education they can. Education is
the ground for a successful life. We
moved to Monroe County from
Clayton County. We searched for a
place to raise our children with a
good school system. We have that
here in Monroe County and we need
to keep it this way.
What qualities and experience
do you bring to the office? I am a
citizen of
Monroe County with children in
the school system. Every decision
that is made by the BOE affects my
household- 1 way or another- . The
Quality that I bring is an open mind
and an open heart.
What is your vision for the
school system? School of Excellence
for all the schools in Monroe County.
I want Monroe County to be #1 when
it comes to graduation percentages
and top of the line with CRCT test
scores and graduation test scores. I
want our children to be proud that
they live and attend school in
Monroe County.
What do you think are the most
important issues facing Monroe
County Schools today? The most
important thing is keeping our
schools “DRUG FREE”.
No bullying zones - 0 tolerances-.

Why do you want to serve on the
Board of Education?
Having served on the Board of
Education for the past eight years, it is
my desire to continue serving my con
stituents to meet the challenges of provid
ing quality education for ALL students of
Monroe County. Utilizing the knowledge
and experience that I have developed
while serving on the Board, I understand
the opportunities available to the School
System, and I can effectively work to con
tinue to improve the educational environ
ment of the School System.
What qualities and experience do
you bring to the office?
My proven success working with the
other Board Members puts our Board in a
position to better serve our community.
My dedication and responsible leadership,
loyal meeting attendance, listening to con
stituents, problem solving ability, and
working diligently with the Board to find
effective administrators has certainly
worked to build the quality school system
citizens proudly recognize today. Prior
long term business ownership and man
agement, professional service to the Court
Systems, community civic involvement,
mother of two children in Monroe County
Schools, and a strong commitment to pro
viding excellence for ALL students are
some of my qualities that I bring to this
Board position.
What is your vision for the school
system?
For Monroe County Schools to be recog
nized as a World Class school system that
is committed to excellence for ALL stu
dents. My vision can be attained by not
only reacting to opportunities and issues
as they arise, but also to be proactive to
plan for the future. This
vision can be achieved by
working together with
Board Members and the
Superintendent to direct
and encourage maximal
effective use of our admin
istrative resources, while
holding our instructors
responsible and accountable
for high quality standards
of educating all of our stu
dents in a safe, engaging,
respectful, friendly, and
professional environment.
What do you think are the most
important issues facing the Monroe
County Schools today?
Budget prudence/money available for
education/the economy/Monroe County
population growth; Improving state and
nationally ranked test scores of the stu
dents; Keeping high quality teachers and
administration; Promoting and maintain
ing a safe and drug-free environment on
our school campuses; Maintaining high
student achievement and success;
