Here are the top MCR
vents from this week, as
ranked by our readers.
DON Daniel's column quot
ed someone on the Board of
Commissioners with saying,
"We're not going to treat you
any differant than Mr
Carlisle". MAYBE, just
maybe, the problem with the
old Commission was not Mr.
Carlisle after all. rank: 11
I'M waiting for the other
shoe to drop. If the "Gov"
gets his way and we lose
homestead exemption,will
Monroe County be sending
us another tax bill? rank: 10
IT’S time for the Governor
to go! And his loyal
entourage. They have done
enough harm for this State
already. It will continue to
trickle down until WE make a
change, rank: 8
PEOPLE, Let’s come
together to overcome our
plight. Our grandparents
came through it with a lot
less than we have now. They
had God, family and love for
our country, rank: 6
WHEN are parents going to
be able to see their child's
lunch money balance online?
There is a space for it on
Power School, but it's not
there. Instead of sending let
ters about lunchroom
charges, give us access so
we can keep up with it. rank:

I GUESS to the God-fear
ing editors of the MCR,
speaking up for gay rights is
a "destructive" comment,

HEY Forsyth Woman's
Club, thanks for a great
Father-Daughter Dance.
What a neat event for
Monroe County. Now if we
can just persuade the DJ
that Souija Boy might not be
the best music for little girls!
rank: 3
BY all means, let Monroe
County line up for some pork
from the stimulus package.
Let's all just bow down and
worship the sovereign gov
ernment from whom all
blessings flow. Puh-leeze!

WHO says there are no
econonic opportunities these
days? Forsyth is wide open if
someone would open a top-
notch day-care and can keep
their costs down. Eighty-six
families are waiting! rank: 1
GOOD ole boy politics is
always at work. It is amazing
how one person can work for
years and make the same
amount of money or less
than one just hired..wait a
minute..was it hired, fired or
moved....who knows? rank: -

BEING new to Forysth, I
hate the way we are made to
pay for Christmas lights for
the town, even though I don't
even put lights on my house
because I can't afford it.

Editor’s note: According
to assistant school superin
tendent Jackson Daniel, par
ents can see their child’s
lunch money balance on line
not through PowerSchool,
but through a program called
Cafeteria Cash. Parents
were notified of this new item
in December by letter. The
link to this secure, encrypted
program is on each school’s
website (under parent
resources - just next to pow-
erschool). This program can
be used to check account
balances and parents can
also make online payments if
they choose.

The dance gives young
girls a chance to dress
up and see how they
should be treated during
a night on the town.
Many daddies took their
