Royal Palm Banquet facility at

Homegrown Harmonies will
include music from local musi
cians and singers including Matt
Pippin, Mark Johnson, Mama T
from Ceylon Bleu, Stephanie Ivey
and more. Hors d'oeuvre, dessert
and beverage service will be

Forsythia Festival Musi-
cale
The Backlot Players of Forsyth
presents the sixth Forsythia
Festival Musicale on Friday,
March 6 and Saturday, March 7
at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 8
at 2 p.m. at the Rose Theater in
downtown Forsyth. This year's
production, "They Wrote the
Songs", features the music of
Cole Porter, Neil Diamond,
George and Ira Gershwin, Hank
Williams and ABBA, with an
eclectic mix of music for everyone
in the family to enjoy.
Tickets are $10 and are avail
able at Monroe County Bank and
at the door. Proceeds will benefit
the Rose Renovation Fund specif
ically earmarked for cast dress
ing and restrooms. Come enjoy a
wonderful evening of great musi
cal entertainment by the 45
member Forsyth Chorale under
the direction of Glenn Gregg.

Fashions for the entire family,
including all ages and sizes, will
be showcased. This prelude event
to the Forsythia Festival will
include a plated luncheon catered
by Betty Mock and door prizes.
The event will be held March 11
from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the
Forsyth United Methodist
Church fellowship hall. Tickets
are $20 and seating is limited.

Forsythia Festival
Forsythia dinner is March 12
The community
care/Forsythia Festival
dinner and silent auction
will be held March 12 at
7 p.m. at the Central GA
Convention Center. The
cost is $20. Tickets are
available at Piedmont
Bank, the Circle of Care
Thrift Shop, or from any
Community Care council
member.
Special music will be
provided by Ja Da, a
sweet adeline (female
barbershop quartet)
group from Macon.
The auction will include
a set of modern,
Bavarian china; a large
carved wooden Indian
head; a set of framed
Gainesborough "Pinky
and Blue Boy" prints; a
flower arrangement; a
vintage Napco head vase;
various collectible pot
tery pieces and many
more new and slightly
used items. All proceeds
will benefit the local
community care program.
This is a 501-3 sub
sidiary of the Monroe
County Ministerial
Association.

Literacy dinner is March 20
The board members of the Monroe
County Adult Literacy Program will
present a Dinner-Trivia-Silent Auction
fundraiser for literacy on Friday, March
20 at 7 p.m. in the Caboose at the Royal
Palm Cafe. Eric Wilson will be the Trivia
Master. Wilson, an MCALP board mem
ber, is the owner of GO Communications
and is the past chairman of the Forsyth-
Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are $20 and may be purchased
from a board member or at the Monroe
County Bank, a sponsor of the event.
Other sponsors include Haygood, Lynch,
Harris, Melton, Watson and El-Jourbagy,
LLC, Central Georgia Technical College
and Southern Rivers Energy. You may
purchase tickets and bring your own
Trivia team, or make up a team with
your friends and tablemates at dinner.
