Amanda Leigh Hollifield and John Scott
McDonald of Forsyth were married Wednesday,
Oct. 28, 2009 at 1 p.m. Judge Jeff Davis officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Patsy and John
Hollifield of Forsyth and the granddaughter of
Sarah Hollifield of Thomaston.
She is a 1998 Mary Persons graduate. She is cur
rently working as a correctional officer II at A1
Burruss CTC. She is also a volunteer firefighter
with the Monroe County Fire Department and is
currently attending Central Georgia Technical
College where she is studying to become an emer
gency medical technician.
The groom is the son of John and Sandra
McDonald of Burlington, NC and is the grandson of
Vera McDonald of Seneca, SC. He graduated from
Mary Persons in 1994 and enlisted in the GA State
Defense Force. He also attended Mercer University
and Georgia College and State University. He is a
senior systems engineer with Premiere Global
Services in Buckhead.

Henry Medical Center.
He weighed 6 pounds,
10 ounces and was 19
inches long.
His grandparents are
Debbie Parrish of
Rockmart, Brenda Jones of Forsyth and Johnny
Jones Jr. of Forsyth. His great grandparents are
Leroy and Margaret Smallwood of Rockmart and
Johnny Jones Sr. of Forsyth.
He was welcomed home by his big sister, Jasmyn
Porter.
Bella Grace Sanders
Vern and Joy Sanders of Barnesville announce
the birth of their daughter, Bella Grace Sanders, on
Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at 9:23 p.m. at West Georgia
Health Systems in LaGrange. She weighed 8
pounds, 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.
Her maternal grandparents are Earl and Diann
Fortson of Barnesville. Her paternal grandparents
are Vernon and LaVue Sanders of Forsyth.
She was welcomed home by her big brother John
Wyatt.

son, Liam Cecil
Parks, on July 5,
2009 at the Medical
Center of Central
Georgia. He
weighed 2 pounds
8.6 ounces and was
14 inches long.
His maternal grandparents are Priscilla Doster
and Ernest Jackson of Forsyth and George Doster
and Flo Camp of Dacula. His paternal grandpar
ents are Larry and Mary Parks of Macon. His
paternal great grandfather is Cecil Parks of Macon.
He was welcomed home by his big sister Tia
Chastain. Liam is quickly catching up and is close
to 10 pounds. His family would like to thank every
one for their thoughts and prayers during his hos
pital stay.

announce their engagement and forthcoming mar
riage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Greg and Norma
Hester of Forsyth. She graduated from Mary Persons
High School in 2006 and is a full time spa consultant.
The groom-elect is the son of Jody and Sharon
Hammond of High Falls. He is the grandson of Susan
and Jacky Pines of High Falls. He graduated from
Mary Persons High School in 2005 and now owns
U.S. Industrial Lift in Atlanta.
The wedding is planned for March 20, 2010 at 6
p.m. at Alexandria Hall in McDonough. The couple
will honeymoon in Jamaica and then reside in
Monroe County.
Sanderson wins new crown
On Aug. 29 Lynsey
Sanderson was crowned Miss
All-American Music Queen.
She sang "Over the Rainbow"
with no accompaniment. She
was also selected as the
"People's Choice Award." The
pageant was held in Macon
at Tattnall Square Academy
and there were about 40 girls
participating in the event.
Lynsey is the daughter of
Bob and Lyn Sanderson of
Forsyth. She is a member of
Forsyth United Methodist
Church and is a junior at
Macon State College.

Rebecca and John Ham
Hams celebrate
50 years together
John and Rebecca Ham of Forsyth celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31, 2009.
The Hams were the guests of honor at a party
given by their children and attended by family and
friends at the American Legion Hall in Forsyth.
The couple met in Forsyth and were married on
Oct. 31, 1959. They have four children, John Ham
of Warner Robins; Doug Ham and wife Betsy, of
Forsyth; Rusty Ham of Forsyth; and Ginger Moore
and husband Kin, of Forsyth. They have seven
grandchildren, Richard, Daniel and Kristen Ham
of Warner Robins; Chad Moore and wife Katie of
Forsyth; John Moore of Forsyth; and D.J. and
Kelsey Ham of Forsyth. They also have one great
grandchild, Aiden Ham of Warner Robins.
John Ham retired from Krisham Tire Co. in
December 2005. Rebecca is a homemaker.
