Incidents
The Monroe County
Sheriff s office reported
the following incidents
Pit bull causes
man to wreck
bike, bites
patrol car
At 12:25 p.m. on Oct. 29
Sgt. Davis was dis
patched to Maynards
Mill Road in reference to
a vicious dog running at
large. The complainant
said he had been riding
his bike on Maynards
Mill when a dog charged
him and forced him to
wreck. The victim said he
had landed in the ditch
and had been cut on his
lower left leg. The mirror
and reflector on his bike
had been broken and the
chain had come loose.
The victim said the driv
er of a pickup truck had
been behind him at the
time of the wreck and
had stopped to help him
and had taken him back
home. The complainant
showed Davis where the
pit bull lived and the dog
was found lying on the
back porch of the house.
As Davis approached the
house the dog attacked
the right front tire and
fender of Davis’s patrol
car and growled at Davis
as he walked to the front
door. Davis was unable to
get in touch with anyone
at the house. Davis was
going to try to contact
the owner later and
charge the owner with
violation of Monroe
County’s leash law.

At 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 30
Deputy Jackson was
given a lookout in refer

and a bottle of Barton’s
Gin, which was nearly
empty, was found on the
floorboard. The driver

given him plenty of room
but said that as soon as
the complainant passed
him he put on his turn
signal and turned
abruptly into the feed
store parking lot. The
victim said the driver

at the time and was
unable to stop or avoid
hitting the truck. He said
