Eleven
fingers,
eleven
children
She may be 87 and living at Her
itage Healthcare in Forsyth, but
Elsie Jones can still count all 11
of her children on her two hands.
How? Because her right hand
has six fingers. Jones was born
that way. When she was younger
the doctor cut off the extra thumb
on her left hand, but it bled so
much he decided to leave the
one on her right hand. So with 11
fingers and 11 children, Jones
said she could always make sure
they were "toeing the road." Find
out what Elsie and other nursing
home residents remember about
Christmas and Thanksgiving in

Georgia Athletic Club now open
The Georgia Athletic Club in Forsyth held its grand opening last Thursday, Nov. 19, just in time to
work off that Thanksgiving over-indulgence. The club, including a theater room where you can
watch movies on a big screen while you work out, can be used by members around the clock. Co
owner Rob Daughtry said it's amazing nobody's opened a gym in Forsyth because there is cer
tainly a need, and the gym has remained busy since opening. He encouraged folks to keep them
selves healthy, noting that God only gave us one body so it should be well-kept. Among those
cutting the ribbon are co-owners Rob Daughtry, Clay Johnson, John Mazzola and Adam Gatz-
maier, and their family members and friends Pam Johnson, Billy Johnson, Debbie Johnson,
Aaron Allen, Penny Mazzola, John Mazzola Sr. and Valerie Rozier. Others on hand included
Tiffany Andrews, Kerri Swearingen, Chrissy Ham Donovan, Clete Sanders, Pam Davis, Connie
Ham, Eric Wilson, Betty Kinnas and Ronnie Kinnas. Georgia Athletic Club has another location in
Gray, as well as a ladies only gym in Gray called Ladies Only. The club is located at 833 Patrol
Road in Forsyth and the phone number is 992-9705. Local manager is Jerry Jennings. The web
site is www.thegeorgiaathleticclub.com.
