Seeking a miracle for Dalton
Monroe County friends and family are
praying for Mary Persons graduate
Dalton Rozier, hoping he recovers from
serious neck and brain injuries suffered in
an auto accident on Friday.
Rozier, 18, was apparently a passenger
in a vehicle that wrecked on Hwy. 83 near
Madison at about 6 a.m. Friday morning,
ejecting Rozier from the car, according to
the state patrol. Rozier was flown by
Lifeflight helicopter to Grady Hospital in
Atlanta where he remains unresponsive
in the trauma unit, according to friends
and family. On Monday, a Facebook
update said a shunt had been inserted in
his head to aid drainage and reduce
swelling.
Rozier was a student at the University
of Georgia in the fall. The son of Allen and
Vanessa Rozier, he was a placekicker for
the MP football team and a member of the
Bulldog soccer team.
Friends have set up a Facebook prayer
vigil for Rozier and already more than
3,500 people had signed up to participate.
The state patrol said they haven't posi
tively identified the driver yet because the
17-year-old thought to be driving was also
injured, and the parents have not yet spo
ken to authorities. It’s thought to be for
mer MP student Austin Bustos, and his
injuries are not thought to be as serious.
The state patrol said they're not even
certain who owns the car, but said there
is evidence that the driver had been
drinking alcohol.

Kemp: This will
hurt everybody
BY WILL DAVIS
Secretary of state Brian
Kemp told officials from
Bibb and Monroe counties
last Tuesday that it won’t
be good for either county if
he has to resolve their
long-simmering county
line dispute.
“I encourage you to work
together,” said Kemp, who
after hearing 45-minute
final arguments from both
sides, conceded it’s a tough
issue. If the counties don’t
reach an agreement, Kemp
said his decision would be
imminent, although he
didn’t give a
timetable. He did give
both counties another 30
days to submit any more
arguments.

Armed thugs
rob Forsyth
Captain D’s
BY WILL DAVIS
Forsyth police are ask
ing for help in locating
three armed black men
who stormed the local
Captain D's on Saturday
night, assaulted three
employees and then made
off with that night's
deposit.
Sgt. David Asbell of the
Forsyth Police
Department said the
three black men were
wearing black shirts,
pants and bandanas and
entered as a female
employee exited as the
store closed around mid
night.
The armed thugs
assaulted three employ
ees, both males and
females, causing minor
bumps and bruises, and
then fled with an undis
closed amount of cash,
said Asbell. They were
last seen leaving in a red
1990s box-style car.
The restaurant
remained closed all day
on Sunday.
Anyone with any infor
mation about the case is
asked to call Forsyth
police at 994-6022.
Captain D's has had
rough sailing lately. Two
weeks ago the restaurant
had to shut down during
the lunch hour when
someone left a suspicious
package in the parking
lot. The package was
later determined to be
harmless.
