Mr. and Mrs. James Alvin Pritchett
Pritchetts mark
50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. James Alvin Pritchett of Juliette will cel
ebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2011.
Their children and grandchildren are hosting a recep
tion in honor of the occasion at East Juliette Baptist
Church Saturday, July 2 from 2-4 p.m. All family and
friends are invited. The Pritchetts request no gifts, but
they would welcome cards of congratulations sent to
their home.
They are active in the Juliette community and Mary is
a member of the East Juliette Baptist Church. They
enjoy spending time with their grandchildren: Wyatt
Rogers, 3, son of Maria Pritchett Rogers and Rodney
Rogers of Garden City; and Sam Sheinman, 15, and
Marc Sheinman, 13, sons of Lisa Pritchett and Harris
Sheinman of Dun woody.
Both Mary and Alvin grew up in Juliette. Alvin
attended Mary Persons High School, while Mary went
to Jones County High School. When they married, Alvin
was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration at
Robbins Air Force Base and Mary worked at Carter’s
Manufacturing. With the birth of their first child, Lisa
Ann Pritchett, Mary became a housewife.
After a brief training stint in Oklahoma City, the
Pritchetts relocated to Hahira, where Alvin worked for
the FAA near Moody Air Force Base. Their second child,
Janice Maria Pritchett, was born in Hahira.
The Pritchetts lived in Hahira for 24 years before
Alvin’s job moved to Ashburn. After 27 years with the
FAA, Alvin retired and they returned to Juliette to live
among their relatives and life-long friends.

Whiteheads
celebrate 50th
anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene T. Whitehead celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary with a reception attended
by family and friends on June 4 at Waterford Cottage
Clubhouse in Macon. Eugene and the former Nancy J.
Carter were married May 20,1961 at the First Baptist
Church of Silver Springs in Silver Springs, Maryland.
Eugene is retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years
of service and from NADEP as an NDI Materials
Inspector at NAS Jacksonville after 21 years. Nancy
has enjoyed raising their four daughters and spending
time with their grandchildren. Eugene and Nancy are
also active with volunteer organizations.
Children are Robby Whitehead of Forsyth, Karen
Hardcastle of Orange Park, Fla., Carol Whitehead of
Rincon, GA and Kimberly Dodson of Middleburg, FL.
They have 13 grandchildren.
Brittany Desirae White and Dustin Jacob McDaniel

Ray and Lisa White of Forsyth announce the
engagement and forthcoming marriage of their
daughter, Brittany Desirae White, to Dustin Jacob
McDaniel, son of Raymond and Cyndi Layman and
the late John Douglas McDaniel.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Philip and
Carole Brewster of Forsyth and the late Robert
Hinkel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Brenda White
and the late Billy Wayne White Sr. of Forsyth. She is
a 2008 graduate of Mary Persons High School. She
plans to graduate this December from Central
Georgia Technical College.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Barbara
Edwards of Forsyth and the late Perry Jones of
Cordele. He is a 2004 Mary Persons graduate and
currently works full time with Coca-Cola as an
account manager.
The couple will pledge their vows to each other on
Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Paran Baptist Church in
Forsyth. Rev. Baker Earwood will officiate.
Sydney Elizabeth Boykin and Jon Kurtis French

Mr. and Mrs. Troy B. Boykin announces the engage
ment and forthcoming marriage of their daughter
Sydney Elizabeth Boykin to Jon Kurtis French, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jon French.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Hamilton
and Carol Boykin of High Falls and Larry and Betty
Martin of McDonough. Sydney is a 2011 graduate of
Mary Persons High School and plans to attend col
lege to become a sonogram tech.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. Melvin
Richardson and the late Mrs. Frances Richardson of
Forsyth and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis French of
Forsyth. Kurt is a 2010 graduate of Mary Persons
High School. He is currently serving in the United
States Navy as a Corpsman, finishing up Surgical
Tech training at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio.
The couple will pledge their vows to each other on
Saturday, July 2 at Lakeshore Manor at High Falls.
The officiate will be Brian Moore, pastor of New
Providence Baptist Church in Smarr.
The couple will reside wherever the Navy sends them.
John Smith is presented with the Patriot Award for his
helpful attitude toward employees who must take leave to
serve in the National Guard or Reserves.

Malcolm and Cindy Seymour of Forsyth announce
the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their
daughter, Kristin Danielle Seymour, to Christopher
Gary Marshall, son of Gary Marshall of Macon and
Vicki Thomas of Pensacola, Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sue House
and the late Sam House of Forsyth and Malcolm
Seymour of Macon and Joyce Warner of Forsyth.
Kristin is a vet tech for Caldwell Veterinary Hospital
and attending classes at Central Georgia Technical
College. She is a 2005 graduate of Mary Persons High
School.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Terrell and
Elizabeth Marshall of Macon and Betty Honeycutt of
Gray and the late Frank Ellis Reid of Thomaston.
Chris is a 2006 graduate of Hutchingson Career
Center. He is employed at Warner Robins Air Force
Base.
The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, May 12,
2012 at Plantation Farms in Byron.

stationed at Fort Gillem,
Ga. Anderson credited
Smith for supporting his
military service.

Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn
started the ESGR in
1972 when the U.S.
adopted the all-volunteer
military to encourage
employers to honor the
National Guard and
Reserve service of their
employees.
