Walker, Morris
Kalie, Kara and Kenley Walker along with Luke and
Macy Morris announce the engagement and wedding
of their parents Miss Dana Walker to Dr. Clell M.
Morris. The wedding ceremony will be July 2 at the
Forsyth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken
Stephens officiating. The service will be attended by
immediate family.
Dana is the daughter of Mr. Allen Halley of Newnan
and Ms. Argen Edwards of Centerville. Dana, a 1987
graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins
holds an engineering degree from Mercer University,
Masters and Specialist Degrees from Georgia College
and State University and is the Assistant Principal of
Instruction at Warner Robins High School.
Clell is the son of the late Dr. Kenneth T. Morris and
Mrs. Bonnie Morris of Forsyth. Dr. Morris graduated
from Mary Persons High School in 1987, A.S. D.M.D.
The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Morris serves as
a dentist at Forsyth Dental Center.
Amber Danielle Sawley and Cameron Luke Joyner

Cliff and Kim Sawley of Forsyth announce the
engagement of their daughter Amber Danielle Sawley
to Cameron Luke Joyner, son of Wyman and Belinda
Joyner of Lyons.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Wayne and
Glenda Fleming and the late Howard Sawley and
Gwen Baird. Amber is a summer intern at New
Providence Baptist Church. She is a 2009 graduate of
Mary Persons High School and a 2011 graduate of
Young Harris College, where she completed her
degree in science. She will be attending Georgia
Southern University in the fall.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Eugene and
Deane Joyner and Betty Grimes and the late James
Grimes. Cameron works part-time with Joyner
Construction and Fastenal, a distributor for industrial
products. He is a 2004 graduate of Toombs County
High School and a 2010 graduate of East Georgia
College, where he completed his Associate's Degree in
general studies. He is a former petty officer third
class in the U.S. Navy during which time he was a
Sonar technician and a VBSS team member. He will
be attending Georgia Southern University in the fall.
The couple will be married on Aug. 13, 2011 in a
small family beach wedding at Cape San Bias, Fla.
Pastor Brian Moore of New Providence Baptist
Church will officiate the ceremony.
After honeymooning in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., the
couple will live in Statesboro.

King celebrate 68th
year of marriage
Congratulations and best wishes to our parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Reason King of Forsyth as they celebrate 68
years of marriage on July 3. Mrs. King was the for
mer Lillie Mae High before marrying Mr. King July 3,
1943. God's richest blessings to you both and we love
you. Your children J.B., Mary Dale, Rose Mary, Benny
and Rutherford.

movie shoot in Forsyth
A Christian movie crew
needs about 300 extras for
filming a scene from 4
p.m.-midnight on July 1 at
the board of education.
Creekside Christian
Academy in McDonough is
joining Pine Crest Baptist
Church to film a Christian
movie, including a scene at
the Board of Education on
July 1. They need 300
extras to be there from 4
p.m. until midnight to be
in their non-profit movie,
“The Solomon Bunch”.
The movie is set in the
fictional town of
Brookville, Ga. and is
about a kid, Ricky Reed,
and his friends on a jour
ney to a better under
standing of life and faith.
With comic relief, twists
and subplots, director
Jason Prisk expects the
movie to be a hit.
The cinematographer for
the movie, Bob Scott,
filmed the popular 2006
movie “Facing the Giants”,
as well as “Fireproof and
“Letters to God”. “The
Solomon Bunch” is predict
ed to be an hour long and
will be suitable for people
of all ages.

Mercers celebrate
Mary Jane and Billy
Mercer are celebrating
their 50th Wedding
Anniversary on June 8.
They are life-long resi
dents of Forsyth and mem
bers of Rocky Creek
Baptist Church. They have
a daughter Sirena Scott

Smith

Smith had been director of personnel and testing until
last week when superintendent Anthony Pack restruc
tured the central office, giving Smith lateral move to
director of federal programs and assessment.
Pack said Smith's retirement didn't come as a total
surprise and had been in the works. Attempts to reach
Smith for comment were unsuccessful. She and her hus
band Jimmy have two sons, Mark and Allen, who are
teachers at Mary Persons High School.
Pack said the job would be advertised internally.
