A Juliette woman was
charged with DUI after caus
ing a three vehicle accident
on Hwy 87 near Pea Ridge
Road on the afternoon of
June 24.
Sheila Smith, 54, rear
woman
ended the vehicle in front of
her, causing it to hit the pick
up truck in front of it which
was driven by Lauren
Warren of Forsyth. The
impact from the rear end col
lision caused Warren to hit
the trailer in front of her.

According to the incident
report the driver with the
trailer fled the scene and left
Smith with her passenger
and Warren at the accident.
Officer Todd Haskins from
the Monroe County Sheriff’s
Office reported giving Smith
a breath test, which revealed
that she was under the influ
ence of alcohol. It was also
reported that Smith was fol
lowing too closely. Smith’s
passenger complained of
injury and was taken for
treatment.
Smith’s vehicle was
removed by a relative, and
Warren’s vehicle was towed
after it was extensively dam
aged. Smith was arrested
and charged with DUI, fol
lowing too closely, and viola
tion of limited permit.
