Wanted for Comfort Inn robbery, call 994-6022 A Comfort Inn security camera caught this video of the wanted suspect. Forsyth Police are urging the public to help them iden tify an armed robber who entered the Forsyth Comfort Inn on Wednesday night. Lt. Alexander Daniels said a black male, about 5-foot, 10 inches in height with a small build and a medium complexion robbed the Comfort Inn at 333 Harold G. Clarke Parkway between 7:40 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Daniels said the suspect was wearing a long blue sweater and had a mustache and a goatee. The suspect did not show a weapon, but employees said they believed he had one present. He escaped with $310. Persons with any informa tion about this crime should contact the Forsyth Police Department at 994-6022. The most memorable play in Mary Persons’ impressive 40-14 win over Statesboro on Friday was Akebren Ralls’ stripping the ball from Statesboro lineman Quazie Murphy (above) and returning it 37 yards for a touchdown. Murphy had picked up a fumble by Blue Devil quarterback Colin Chance and was rumbling for a first down when Ralls made the spectacular play. BY RICHARD DUMAS AND WILL DAVIS Construction of a new county administration build ing is going so well that county employees may be able to move in as early as mid-February. That's what Jimmy Melton, vice presi dent of Renfr oe Construction, told the Reporter on Monday. County commission chair man James Vaughn had set the summer of 2013 as a possible move date but work seems to be progressing ahead of that, according to Melton. After county offi cials move into the new 22,000-square-foot building, then workers will begin ren ovating the adjoined current county building that fronts Main Street. The entire project is being funded with $4 million from the 2007 special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST). Last week, commissioners added two video screens and a projector to plans for the spacious meeting room at the new building. Commissioners weighed three options: the first was for one projector and one drop down screen; the sec- See OFFICE page 5A Dr. Tom Perry closing office after 37 years After 37 years of helping Monroe Countians to see better, Dr. Tom Perry has announced he is closing his optometric office in January. In 2013, Perry will contin ue his practice at the Walmart Vision Center on Harrison Road in Macon across from Eisenhower Shoppes. Perry will see patients in Forsyth at least through mid-December. "After serving the public for over 37 years in Forsyth, the move of my practice will be bittersweet. My staff and I have so many fond memo ries of our patients. We can not thank them enough for their patronages." But Perry said now that he's 66 years old and has four little grandchildren, Jack, Will, McGahren and Alice, all under the age of four, it's time for him to cut back some. Perry said he cannot thank his associates Sandra Brinkley and Janice Rogers enough for their loyalty, work ethic and honesty.
