were reported by the
Monroe County Sheriff’s
Department Nov. 7-Nov.

Warner Robins
woman with kids
arrested for DUI
A 40-year-old white
Warner Robins woman
was arrested and charged
with DUI, failure to main
tain lane and endangering
a child under the age of 14
after a traffic stop on 1-75
South on Nov. 7. At about
1:42 p.m., Dep. Chad Beck
was notified by dispatch
ers about a blue Nissan
Versa driving recklessly on
1-75 North. Dispatchers
said the emergency caller
was still traveling behind
the car, which nearly ran
off the road and almost hit
the guardrail. The car
exited 1-75 at Exit 185, but
then got back on 1-75
South. Officer Thomas
Czerniejewski of the
Forsyth Police Department
stopped the car. Beck saw
the female driver was very
unsteady on her feet and
appeared in a daze. Beck
told the driver he had
received several calls
about her driving, but the
driver responded she did
n't think she was driving
badly. The driver denied
drinking any alcohol that
day. The driver then failed
several field sobriety tests.
However, she tested nega
tive on a field breath test
for alcohol. Beck then
asked the driver if she had
taken any medication that
day. The driver said she
had taken a small amount.
The driver had two chil
dren, ages 8 and 14, in the
car with her. The 14-year-
old said they were headed
to Macon to shop. Lt. K.B.
Ayer picked up the two
children. Beck found a
medication bottle inside
the driver's purse for
Lorazepam. The prescrip
tion had been filled two
days prior, but only eight
of the 30 pills remained in
the bottle. The driver said
she had taken most of the
pills the previous day
because she couldn't
breathe. The driver then
said she was driving reck
lessly because her kids
were fighting after she
stopped off at Dairy Queen
to get them ice cream.
Four rings stolen
from home on
Luther Smith Road
At about 1:50 p.m. on
Nov. 7, Dep. Lawson
Bittick went to a Luther
Smith Road home in refer
ence to a theft. The female
homeowner said four rings
and a watch were stolen
from her home. The home-
owner said she called sev
eral Macon pawn shops
and discovered a watch
similar to hers was sold at
Vans Pawn Shop. The
stolen jewelry included a
diamond tennis bracelet
watch, a diamond cluster
ring, a square-boxed gold
ring, a gold ring with a
ruby stone and a gold ring
with an emerald stone.
The stolen items were val
ued at about $8,900.
Driver denies
pointing weapon
at car on interstate
At about 11:26 a.m. on
Nov. 8, Dep. Lawson
Bittick was given a look
out for a brown Chevrolet
Trail Blazer in which the
male driver had allegedly
pointed a handgun at
another vehicle on 1-75
South. Bittick stopped the
SUV and met with the
male driver who said he
had a concealed carry per
mit. Bittick asked the
driver to explain what had
happened. The driver said
a silver vehicle began to
follow his SUV very close
ly. He said the other vehi
cle passed him in the cen
ter lane before slowing
down. He said it appeared
that the other driver was
going to throw something
at his SUV, so he grabbed
his .40-caliber handgun
and placed it in front of
him on the dashboard. The
driver said he never point
ed the gun at the other
vehicle. The driver allowed
Bittick to retrieve the gun
from the driver side door
panel. The gun had a
black handle and a silver
shaft and did not have a
round in the chamber. The
gun's serial number came
back valid as well. Both of
the SUV's other occupants
confirmed the driver's
story. The other driver, a
female, said the driver had
pointed the gun, which she
described as black in color,
at her. She said both the
driver and the SUV's other
occupants raised their
middle fingers at her, and
he then pointed the gun.
No one was arrested in the
incident, and the driver
was released from the
scene.

body of Lassiter
Road resident
At about 1:19 p.m. on
Nov. 7, Dep. Holly
Martinage responded to a
medical call at a Lassiter

Benson. Benson told
Martinage he had gone to
the home to check on the
male homeowner who had
made a call to the Sheriffs

saying he was going into

homeowner had said his
