Sealed Bids for furnishing all
materials, labor, tools, equipment
and appurtenances necessary for
the construction of the Water
System Improvements in District 2
will be received by the Monroe
County Board of Commissioners at
the County Annex Building at 38
West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia
31029 until 2:00 P.M. local time, on
December 20, 2012, and then at
said office publicly opened and read
aloud.
The Project consists of the
installation of Water System as
outlined below:
- Install approximately 10,800 lineal
feet of 12” water line along with
associated hydrants, valves,
services, fittings, joint restraint, jack
& bore casings, clearing, erosion
control and connections to existing
water lines along Josey Road and
Hopewell Road.
- Install approximately 5,700 lineal
feet of 8” water line along with
associated hydrants,
valves, services, fittings, joint
restraint, jack & bore casings,
clearing, erosion control and
connections to existing water lines
along Maynard Mill Farm Road,
Bridle Chase Lane and Saddle Run
Court.
- Install approximately 7,200 lineal
feet of 8” water line along with
associated hydrants,
valves, services, fittings, joint
restraint, jack & bore casings,
clearing, erosion control and
connections to existing water lines
along Charles Johnson Road.
- Install approximately 11,500 lineal
feet of 8” water line along with
associated hydrants,
valves, services, fittings, joint
restraint, jack & bore casings,
clearing, erosion control and
connections to existing water lines
along Woodward Road, King Road
and Hill Road.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of the work
under the Contract Documents must
be self performed by the General
Contractor. The work in each
Contract will be awarded on the
basis of the total sum bid for the
construction of all utilities and
associated work as noted in the
Measurement and Payment section
of the Contract.
Any Contractor performing the
proposed work must be a licensed
utility contractor by the State of
Georgia. License numbers are
requested to be written on the face
of the bid envelope, but not
required. See Instructions to Bidders
for additional bidding requirements.

Contract Agreement, Specifications
and forms of Bid Bond,
Performance Bond, and Payment
Bond and other Contract
Documents may be examined at the

Copies of Contract Documents may
be obtained at the office of the
Engineer, Carter & Sloope, Inc.

31210, upon payment of $100.00,
non-refundable, for each set. Street
address must be provided to ensure
prompt delivery. No partial sets of
bidding documents shall be issued
by the Engineer.
Each Bid must be accompanied by
a Bid Bond, prepared on the form of
Bid Bond attached to the Contract
Documents, duly executed by the
Bidder as principal and having as
surety thereon a surety company
licensed to do business in the State
of Georgia and listed in the latest
issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570,
in the amount of 10% of the Bid.
The successful Bidder for this
Contract will be required to furnish a
satisfactory Performance Bond and
Payment Bond each in the amount
of 100 percent of the Bid.
All necessary permits for this project
are expected to be acquired prior to
the commencement of any
construction activities. The Notice of
Intent necessary for coverage under
the NPDES General Permit will be
filed after the bid opening with the
contractor listed as Primary
Permittee.
All anticipated easements and
rights-of-way are expected to be
acquired prior to commencement of
construction activities.
The Owner reserves the right to
reject any or all Bids, to waive
informalities, and to re advertise.
