Hardwood Floors by Grizzard-Evans
Local business has passion for quality, service
Hardwood Floors by
Grizzard/Evans Floor
Sanding, Inc. is more than
a business to owner
Stephen Grizzard. It is an
important part of his life
and a passion for him. His
customers benefit from the
pride and care he puts into
every job he does.
Locally owned and oper
ated, Grizzard/Evans Floor
Sanding, Inc. specializes in
complete wood floor instal
lation, refinishing, and
sanding. Grizzard provides
free estimates on unfin
ished and pre-finished
flooring and engineered
flooring for concrete slabs,
sanding and repairs. He
also does complete job site
analysis, knowing from
years of experience that
little things overlooked or
ignored prior to installa
tion may lead to problems
in the long run.
Grizzard's father-in-law,
Jerry Evans, founded the
business in 1960, and it
has been family owned
and operated ever since.
Grizzard started helping
Evans part time after
school and on weekends in
1979. When Evans was
ready to retire in 2000, he
asked Grizzard if he was
interested in buying the
business. With the support
of his wife, Rhonda,
Grizzard left the security
of a full time job and took
the risk of becoming a
business owner.
"I have been enjoying
and loving what I do ever
since," said Grizzard.
Grizzard follows the
advice of his parents:
"Treat everyone as you
would expect to be treated;
do the very best you can;
and you will end each day
being satisfied that you
have done your best."
Grizzard promises each
of his customers that he
will treat him or her with
honesty and integrity, pro
mote the merits of his
services without degrading
competitors, reveal all
material facts of his servic
es to keep customers well
informed, perform all wood
floor projects according to
the National Wood
Flooring Association guide
lines, and commit no act
that would discredit the
profession or the wood
floor industry.
Grizzard's love of work
ing with wood began as a
child when he spent many
hours in his grandfather's
workshop nailing together
scrap pieces of wood to cre
ate whatever his imagina
tion dictated. Sometimes

Cabaniss Chapter took
this opportunity to present
a U. S. American Flag Set
to the Boy Scouts of Troop
51 and their leader, John
Sandusky.
"We have watched the
young men in this troop
grow up. We have watched
them grow up because
they have, for the past five
or six years been a part of
all our ceremonies,” said
Doveen Bowdoin, presi
dent of Cabaniss Chapter,
in her remarks. “They
have served as Honor
Guard, placed flags,
escorted wreath bearers,
and sounded “Taps,” and
pretty much done whatev
er we asked and come
whenever we asked.
Because of their unfailing
service to us, we gave
them an American Flag

wanted them to know how
