Santa on his..
....Segway?!?
Hundreds of Monroe County resi
dents gathered on the Forsyth
courthouse square on Monday as
Santa and Mrs. Claus wheeled in on
police Segways. Kids watched
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”
at The Rose for free and choirs and
dancers entertained the crowd. An
even bigger crowd is expected for
Thursday’s parade in Forsyth at 7

One year old sleeps as van flips
three times Thanksgiving Eve
BY RICHARD DUMAS
A 1-year-old Florida girl slept fitfully as
the family van she was in flipped three
times during a one-car wreck on 1-75
North on Wednesday, Nov. 21, the day
before Thanksgiving. Happily, neither the
child nor any of the other family mem
bers were hurt in the Thanksgiving Eve
accident during their trek to see relatives.
Just before 4 p.m., Robert and Betty
Reynolds of Poinciana, Fla. were on their
way to McDonough, where they were
headed to spend Thanksgiving with their
daughter's family when their gray 1987
van began bouncing on 1-75 as if it was
traveling on a bumpy road.
Soon afterward, Robert Reynolds, who
was driving, said the van began pulling to
the right from the center lane. Reynolds
said he felt like something was wrong
with the right front wheel, so he tried to
pull over onto the shoulder.
However, Reynolds could not stop the
van from heading to the right and down
an embankment, where it flipped three
times before coming to a stop on its side.
Another of Reynolds' daughters, Bridget
Reynolds, and her nine-year-old son
Nadiah and one-year-old daughter Nariah
were in the backseat of the van at the
time of the wreck.
All five persons declined medical treat
ment, and Bridget Reynolds said young
Nariah, who was sitting properly in her
child safety seat, slept through the whole
accident.
Tracy's Auto Body Repair towed the
van, which suffered extensive damage.
The Reynolds' said they were sorry to see
their van in such disrepair but felt very
fortunate to be okay.

Racism is the crutch peo
ple pull out when they don't
have a valid argument
about something. Just look
at Victor Hill up in Clayton
County. Newly-elected
sheriff under 37 felony in
dictments and claiming
that people are against him
serving because of racism,
the scary thing is that some
will buy it!
