Get ready for the
Holidays Parade
The Forsyth Hometown
Holidays Parade begins
Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. The
theme this year is “Holidays in
Toon Town.” Participates are
encouraged to pick a cartoon
and decorate their float to repre
sent that cartoon in a holiday
setting. Be creative; choose a
cartoon, an anime, or a cartoon
movie. You can check out the
parade’s facebook page to see
which cartoons have already
been taken. For an application

Bolingbroke Christmas
Parade comes to town
The 14th annual Bolingbroke
Christmas Parade, sponsored by
the Bolingbroke Community
Club will begin at 3 p.m. on
Saturday, Dec. 1. Pre-parade fes
tivities begin at 2 p.m. with
snacks, drinks, and a cake walk.
After the parade, visit Santa
and Mrs. Claus in Santa’s down
town Bolingbroke workshop. For

Forsyth Chorale
invites singers
Join the Forsyth Chorale and
sing for the The Backlot Players
Forsythia Festival Musicale to
be held on March 1 and 2. The
musicale will be a spirituals con
cert, "Ain-A That Good News?,"
and will feature the great spiri
tual songs of America. There will
be a small fee (no more than
$15) to help cover the cost of
music, and you get to keep your
music. Rehearsals will be held
on Mondays at 7 p.m. at First
Baptist Church, Forsyth begin
ning in January. Call 478-972-

Love Lights a Tree
ceremony to be held
Love Lights a Tree is an oppor
tunity to purchase an ornament
in honor or in memory of some
one special who has been
touched by cancer. The tree in
the Monroe County Hospital will
be decorated with these orna
ments and lit for these special
people. Personalized ornaments
can be purchased for $10. The
tree lighting ceremony will be on
Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. in the
hospital lobby. Make donations
by Nov. 28 to assure loved ones
are recognized at the program.

Chamber hosts
pre-legislative update
The Forsyth-Monroe County
Chamber of Commerce is host
ing its pre-legislative update on
Monday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. in
Aldermen Hall. Representatives
Suaan Holmes, Allen Peake,
and Robert Dickey have agreed
to attend.
Hubbard High
class of 1968 to meet
Hubbard High School class of
1968 will meet at Ebbyz on
Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. Class
members are asked to come and
help make plans for the upcom
ing reunion to be held in 2013.

Griffin Choral Arts
performs Christmas
concert
‘Christmas with Griffin Choral
Arts,’ under direction of Dr.
Stephen J. Mulder, will be pre
sented on Thursday, Dec. 6, at
7:30 p.m. at Griffin First Baptist
Church, 106 W. Taylor St. This
sixth annual Christmas concert
continues the tradition with
music for choir, organ, Barrister
Brass, and percussion and
includes audience carols to start
off the holiday season. John
Rutter’s Gloria highlights the
evening. Tickets are $10 general
admission at the door or in
advance in Griffin at Artistic
Flowers and Gifts and J.
Michael’s Frameworks; in
Barnesville at Goggans Florist;
in Zebulon at A Novel
Experience bookstore; and in
Thomaston at the TUAC
Gallery. Griffin Choral Arts is
composed of 50 singers from all
over the region, many of whom
are music teachers at the ele
mentary, middle, secondary, or
college level. The mission of

p.m.Anchor of Hope is providing
a "Parent's Night Out" free of
charge for families who have
children with special needs. This

month to encourage and support

p.m. Enjoy the beautifully deco

yard gazebo for $15. The event

AT&T Pioneers
charity golf

The Macon AT&T
Pioneers are holding a
charity golf tournament
at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday,
Dec. 1 at Bowden Golf
Course. The event is an
18-hole, four-person
scramble and will cost
$200 per team in
advance and $240 on the
day of the tournament.
Hole sponsorships are
also available for $150
while hole and team
sponsorships are $300.
All proceeds will go to
Middle Georgia charities,
which include the
Monroe County
Pregnancy Center and
the Monroe County
C.A.R.E. Cottage.

Farm-City Week proclaimed
Monroe County Farm Bureau celebrated Farm-City Week Nov. 20 by
inviting city council members and county commissioners to a steak
luncheon. After wards, Mayor John Howard and commission chair
James Vaughn signed the Farm-City Week proclamation. Farm Bureau
president Butch Copelan said agriculture employs 24 million workers and
relies on the partnership between urban and suburban communities to
supply, sell and deliver the finished products across the country. Above,
