First Baptist appoints Niblett
Director of Children’s Services
Carla Niblett will begin her ministry
as Director of Children's Services at
First Baptist Church of Forsyth on Jan.
1. She has been the director of the First
Baptist preschool program for almost
seven years and will continue in that
capacity. She will bring her talents to
Sunday's children's worship,
Wednesday's mission activities, and
summer vacation Bible School. Sunday
school begins at 9:30 a.m. and worship
at 11 a.m. each week.

New Year masses
St. Mary, Mother of God Catholic
Church, 359 Old Griffin Road, Jackson,
will offer masses for the Solemity of
Mary on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 12 noon
and 6 p.m., with a reception following
the evening mass. Friday, Jan. 3, will be
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Devotion from 10:30-11:45 a.m., with
mass at 12 noon. On Saturday, Jan. 4,
the Womens Guild will sponsor a soup
night following the 5 p.m. mass. On
Sunday Jan. 5, The Knights of
Columbus will provide a pancake
breakrfast following the 9 a.m. mass.

Rev. Lamar Cole has joined the fel
lowship of Liberty Baptist Church,
3043 High Falls Road, Jackson, as
pastor effective Sunday Jan. 5.
Coming from Mt. Calvary Baptist
Church in Atlanta, where he served as
associate pastor, Rev. Cole is a former
pastor of Little Vine Baptist Church
in Villa Rica. Liberty Baptist invites

Prison Ministry asks for
donations
With government spending cutbacks,
the need for donations of personal
hygiene items for prisoners has
increased. A local group is collecting
shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes,
denture cream, denture tablets,
deodorant, and soap for inmates at
Burruss Correctional Training Center
in Forsyth. To learn more, call

Ministry is offering a Bible Study enti
tled “The Person and Ministry of the
Holy Spirit” on Tuesday evenings at 7

led by the Pastor, Rev. Jimmy Corbitt,
and is offered to men 18 years of age or
older. There is no cost to attend or for
