Chad Edward Albritton
April 24, 1983 - Dec. 22, 2013
Chad Edward Albritton passed away Sunday, Dec.
22, 2013. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec.
28, at Rock Springs Church with burial in the church
cemetery. Dr. Benny Tate officiated.
Chad was born April 24, 1983 in Forsyth. He was
employed as an iron worker with Atlanta Local 387.
Chad was a motocross racer, starting at the age of
four, and by the age of nine, he had received 67 tro
phies. He continued racing through the years winning
many championships and racing honors. Chad was a
lifetime member of the American Motorcycle
Association and was a Pro-Rider.
Survivors include his parents, Eddie and Barbara
Albritton of Barnesville.

Eunice Pritchett Chapman
Sept. 6, 1922 - Dec. 27, 2013
Mrs. Eunice Pritchett Chapman, age 91, of Zebulon,
passed away Dec. 27, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Chapman was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in
Juliette, daughter of the late Rev. James Thomas
Pritchett and the late Bessie Wilson Pritchett. She
was a 1939 graduate of R.E. Lee Institute in
Thomaston. She was an organizing member of
Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church, which is named
after her family. She was a charter member of Clarissa
Pike OES #539. She loved selling peaches, blueberries,
and pecans off her back porch. She was a loving wife,
mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Joseph Haygood Chapman; sons,
Robert and Joseph W. Chapman; granddaughter, Stacy
Lynn Chapman.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Smith of
Thomaston; grandchildren, Layne and David Garrett
of McKinney, Tex., Brad Chapman of Carrollton,
Sabrina and Clint Sanders of Suwanee, Joey and
Jennifer Smith of Buford, Codi Chapman of Zebulon,
Kevin Chapman of Zebulon; great grandchildren, Ann,
Kate, and Trace Garrett, Cole and Charly Sanders,
Jaelyn and Jax Smith, Brooklyn Bostwick; sister in
law, Lina Pritchett of Kennesaw; several nieces and
nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec.
29, 2013, in the Meansville Congregational Cemetery.
Rev. Joe Hassell officiated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church or the Charity of
one’s choice. Moody-Daniel Funeral Home of Zebulon
is in charge of arrangements.
Myletia Lyn Floyd Sanderson
Feb. 10, 1957-Dec. 27,2013
Myletia Lyn Floyd Sanderson of Forsyth passed
away Friday Dec. 27, 2013. Memorial services will be
held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 4, at Forsyth United
Methodist Church. Rev. Ken Stephens will officiate.
The family will greet friends at 10 a.m. the day of the
service until service time at the church.
Lyn, the daughter of the late Robert Dale Floyd and
Jevene Sanders Floyd, was born Feb. 10, 1957 in
Hawkinsville, Ga. She was a 1975 graduate of Jonesco
Academy where she lettered in basketball, winning
the Girls State Basketball Championship in 1975. She
was also voted Miss Jonesco in 1975. Lyn received her
Associate Degree in nursing in June, 1982 and was
employed with the Coliseum Hospital, where she was
an operating room nurse, for more than 30 years. She
was an avid runner; her true passion was the Food
Pantry Ministry at Forsyth United Methodist Church
where she was a member.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Sanderson of
Forsyth; daughter, Lynsey Sanderson of Forsyth; sis
ters, Sheila and Clay Wood of Macon and Jamie Floyd
of Macon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to
Forsyth United Methodist Food Pantry Ministries, 68
West Johnston Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.

Willie Smith
July 3, 1921-Dec. 17, 2013
Willie Smith, 92, of Atlanta, born July 3, 1921 in
Monroe County, passed Tuesday Dec. 17, 2013.
Homegoing Services were held Monday Dec. 23, at
Saint Stephens Overcoming Church in Atlanta. He
was a World War II veteran. He served from 1942-
1945 in the U.S. Army. Mr. Smith was a hardworking
man who was employed for 30 years as a truck driver
at Spector Lumber Company Atlanta. Known as the
"Neighborhood Handy man,” Mr. Smith continued to
work at his church and throughout the community
until death. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Addie Lou Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories two devoted sons:
Albert (Beverly) Smith, Terry (Charlotte) Smith of
Atlanta, brothers: Alvin (Marilyn) Smith of Forsyth,
Willie Bryant of Culloden; sisters, Janet (Rev.
Hilldredge) of Thomaston, Margie Campbell of
Culloden: sister-in-law, Frances Worthy; five grand
children; four great-grandchildren; nieces, cousins,
and a host of friends.

Baptist Leader lived in Monroe Co.
Rev. Ben H. Taylor, 56, of Monroe County, died
Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 after a brief illness. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at
Milner Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Cliburn and the
Rev. Franklin Gibson officiating. Funeral services will
also be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church
in Macon with the Rev. Scott
Dickison, Dr. Stanley Roberts, The
Rev. Jody Long and the Rev. Julie
Long officiating. Burial will be in
Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran.

Rev. Taylor was privileged to serve First Baptist
Church of Christ in Macon for 17 years and Milner
Baptist Church for 8 1/2 years. He loved the church
and he loved its people.
Rev. Taylor was born in Monroe, N. C. where he
graduated from Sun Valley High School. He then
earned his associate’s degree from Central Piedmont
Community College, bachelor’s degree from University
of North Carolina at Charlotte, and master of divinity
degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary. Rev. Taylor was past president of ARC of
Macon and a three term member of the Board of
Public Education in Monroe County He was
Moderator for two terms of the Centennial Baptist
Association as well as the Macon Baptist Association
of Ministers. He was currently serving on the
Executive Committee of the Georgia Baptist
Convention.
Rev. Taylor was a man of extraordinary goodness and
extraordinary integrity with unusual kindness and
compassion. He was a wonderful husband and father,
and a great servant of God.
Rev. Taylor is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dale
Kingery Taylor of Monroe County; daughter, Mary Ben
Taylor of Monroe County; brother, Richard Helms
(Judy) of Monroe, N.C.; two sisters, Frances T. Austin
(Jimmy) and Donna T. Williams (Mike), both of
Monroe, N.C.; and his brother-in-law, Andrew J.
Kingery Jr. (Joanne) of Evans.

Lurline Burke Waldrep
July 27, 1917-Dec. 23, 1913
Lurline Burke Waldrep passed away Monday Dec.
23, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held
Friday, Dec. 27, at Forsyth United Methodist Church,
with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Rev. Ken
Stephens officiated.
Mrs. Waldrep was born in Forsyth on July 27, 1917,
the eleventh child of William Patrick Burke and Clara
Slade Burke. She was predeceased by her husband,
Otis L. Waldrep Jr.; her son, Roy L. Waldrep, and all
of her 10 siblings. She was married to her husband
Otis Waldrep on Christmas day in 1939. They were
married for 57 years. Mrs. Waldrep was a lifetime res
ident of Forsyth, a mother and homemaker and a
member of Forsyth United Methodist Church. When
she was five years old, she was the senior class mascot
for Tift College. After graduating from Mary Persons
High School, she worked for the Rose Theater.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda W.
Barnett (Tom) of Suwanee, Ga. and Nan Thomas (Ed)
of Birmingham, Ala.; three granddaughters, Leanne B.
Bean (Gary) of Lawrenceville, Nancy B. McNeill
(Kevin) of Cumming, and Karen Thomas of Denver,
Colo. She is also survived by four great grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.

Chris Derek Walker Sr.
Chris D. Walker Sr., 59, of Forsyth died Wednesday
Dec. 25, 2013. Graveside services were held Monday,
Dec. 30, at Monroe Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Eric
Byrd officiated.
Mr. Walker was born in Macon, the son of Samuel
B.C. Walker and Sara Agnes Martin Walker. He
attended Monroe County schools and was in the log
ging and trucking business for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Walker; daughter,
Candace Walker of Forsyth; son, Chris D. Walker Jr. of
Marietta, Ohio; two grandchildren; brother, Michael
Walker of Macon; a nephew and two nieces.
