Joseph Egloff, right, welcomes Magers Anderson as the new manager of his growing
beef operation in Forsyth.
New manager joins
Rocking Chair Ranch
Rocking Chair Ranch
(RCR), a grass-fed beef
operation in Forsyth
founded by Mississippi-
born cattleman, Joseph
Egloff, has hired anoth
er Mississippian to man
age the growing enter
prise.
After a lengthy search,
Egloff has found the
newest member of the
RCR team, not surpris
ingly, in his home town
of Okolona, Miss.
Magers Anderson, an
Okolona native, has
accepted the position of
operations manager at
Rocking Chair Ranch
Cattle and will make his
“mager” move to Georgia
this month.
Anderson brings a
wealth of talent and
knowledge with him to
Georgia. He holds a
degree in Animal
Husbandry and has
worked as a pen rider at
the Mississippi-based
Prairie Livestock, LLC.
For the past several
years, Anderson’s daily
routine has included
overseeing the health of
approximately 500-600
calves on average.
Coming from a large
cattle operation to a
small scale grassfed
operation is an exciting
change of pace for
Anderson, who is used
to working hundreds of
calves, raised on condi
tioning lots, then sold to
various producers. “I am
excited about RCR’s
unconventional
approach to raising cat
tle and selling beef, on a
small scale, directly to
the consumer,” explains
Anderson. “At Rocking
Chair Ranch, I will get
to see the end result of
my work rather than
raising calves for 45-60
days before they are sold
off to another entity,” he
continued.
Another aspect of work
that will be new to
Anderson is working at
local farmer’s markets,
selling the beef he helps
raise. Over the past sev
eral months, Anderson
has visited his new
home in Georgia, and
recently tried out his
new role by selling RCR
beef at the Peachtree
City Farmer’s Market.
“I’d like to think that
one of the reasons our
customers enjoy and
purchase our beef is that
they actually know who
raised it and how it was
raised, handled and
processed,” said RCR
owner Joseph Egloff,
who personally sells his
beef at 3 to 4 farmer’s
markets each week.
Egloff added, “I am so
excited to welcome
Magers Anderson to our
team. His knowledge,
experience and personal
ity are really going to
make the possibilities
endless for Rocking
Chair Ranch.”
The ranch, a long time
dream of Egloff’s, was
started in 2011 and has
since become a source of
beef for countless fami
lies throughout Central
Georgia. As the ranch’s
humanely raised,
steroid, hormone and
antibiotic products gain
in popularity, however,
the need for talented
help has become appar
ent. “We are a small
operation,” explains
Egloff. “I am the CEO,
truck driver, fence
mender and delivery
man. As we continue to
grow, I have been eager
to find a like-minded
rancher to join our team
and help me oversee
daily operations,” he
continued.

farmer’s markets and
small retailers. For a
