Mid-State Appliance Repair
is ready to fix problems
The Forsyth-
Monroe County
Chamber of
Commerce held
a ribbon cutting
for Mid-State
Appliance Repair at
42 E. Johnston St.,
Forsyth on Friday,
July 8. Paul Sharp
started Mid-State
Appliance Repair
16 years ago, work
ing from his Monroe
County home. He
and his team of
technicians repair
all major household
appliances, includ
ing washers, dryers,
microwaves, ranges,
dishwashers, refrig
erators, compactors,
disposals and ice
machines.
Although located
just off the square in
Forsyth, Mid-State
serves 16 counties,
including towns from
Perry and Milledgeville
to Jackson and Griffin,
and Thomaston and
Roberta. Mid-State
repairs all major brands
and is the first-year
warranty designee for
several brands. The
office staff that supports
Sharp and three techni
cians as they provide in-
home diagnostics, repair
and parts includes
Kathy Sharp, Jessica
Durden and Susan
Vance. They are ready to
listen and have someone
on the way when the ice
maker stops making ice
on the hottest day of the
summer. They handle
about 40 calls a day.
Sharp, who has over 20
years of experience in
appliance repair, said
that manufacturers are
constantly changing and
adding innovative fea
tures to appliances. He
has even seen a camera
in the refrigerator that a
shopper can use to check
what’s running low from
the store. Appliance
repair is becoming
more computerized, and
technicians must stay
trained to repair all
brands. Sharp said he is
always looking for addi
tional dependable, hard
working young people
with the desire to learn
technical skills that are
in demand. A success
ful technician will learn
electrical, plumbing,
mechanical and com
munications skills. Call
