Mary Persons’ rising senior, Carson
Dingier, placed 5th in the under 20
age group at the 2016 World Junior
Championships on July 21 in By
dgoszcz, Poland. Dingier cleared
her personal record of 13’ 9.25” on
her third attempt, then went on to a
new personal record of 13’ 11.25”
on her fourth attempt. Dingier was
the youngest in the top 5 in a field
that is normally dominated by gradu
ated high school seniors and college
freshmen. Due to her young age, she
will have one more opportunity in the
2018 World Junior Championships
to be held in Finland. (Photo/Judy
