Shop Juliette Charms for
unique gifts at the best prices
BY DIANE

news@mymcr. net
There’s a new
store in Juliette
that has the perfect
gift for everyone,
including yourself.
Juliette Charms
held its Grand
Opening Sept. 24
at 5196 Juliette
Road, just up the
street from down
town Juliette, at
the former loca
tion of Juliette
Trading Company.
There are custom
T-shirts, boots
and shoes, picnic
baskets, Yeti cups, bath
bombs, sunglasses, jew
elry, cigars, hats, candles
and lotions. There are
even Amish rockers and
bench rockers.
Almost everything in
the store can be person
alized by monograming
or vinyl decals. Owner-
manager Jessica Punjabi
who owns businesses in
Macon, came to Juliette
to eat at the Whistle
Stop Cafe, they were
drawn to the community.
When the location of
Juliette Charms became
available, he asked her
if she would like to oper
ate a gift shop and she
quickly responded to the
opportunity. She plans to
does the monograming
and creates the decals
herself. She said she has
about 750 designs and
will monogram “anything
I can hoop.” She has even
done an item as small as
a Zippo lighter.
Prices vary by the size
of the monogram, and
Jessica can complete
most items while you
wait. Large orders, like
multiple T-shirts, take a
little longer. The highest
price is $21 for a branded
decal. Jessica says she
loves monograming and
pleasing customers by
creating that one-of-a-
kind, personal item.
Jessica said when
she and her husband,
involve her young daugh
ters in the business, too,
eventually. It is truly a
family business, with her
mother helping her with
the gift shop now.
Jessica enjoys meeting
her customers, asking
them to sign her guest
book and tell her when
they are from. She asks
them about their inter
ests and is expanding her
inventory accordingly.
One of the hottest sell
ers so far has been the
powder-coated Yeti cups,
selling at $29.99; they
retail for $60 elsewhere.
The initial stock of 300
Yetis is almost depleted,
but another shipment
will arrive soon.
There are T-shirts,
mugs and other items
with messages that make
them perfect teachers’
gifts. There are hand
made bath scrubs and
sugar scrubs, made with
moisturizing olive oil.
and pungent candles
created from recycled
wine bottles. There are
college items proclaim
ing affiliation
with University
of Georgia,
Auburn,
Alabama,
Ole Miss and
Tennessee.
Beyond the
main display
area is a ‘Man
Cave’ with a
selection of
more mascu
line gift items,
including cigars
and lighters.
Jessica said
that Juliette
Charms can
get any type of cigar
requested. There is also
a children’s room with
bows, backpacks and
other items tailored for
the younger set.
Chloe and Isabel jew
elry is 50 percent off, and
a selection of watches is
arriving soon. There are
purses and leather bags
and small or large fold
ing picnic baskets ready
to fill with goodies and
take to the river. There
are broad-brimmed hats
to shield the sun and
stocking caps to ward off
the winter chill.
Juliette Charms is
open from 11 a.m.-6
p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays
(closed on Monday).

O ROBERT DICKEY

It’s been my honor to represent Monroe

My name is on the ballot and I would be
