Virginia Lee
Blvd. resident
reports theft of
bush hog, trailer
At- about 6:11 p.m. on
Oct. 27, Dep. Kemeyan
Colvard went to a Virginia
Lee Blvd. home where
a male resident said he
recently noticed his gray
and white 1950 Ford
Golden Jubilee 600 tractor
and bush hog were miss
ing. The resident said his
neighbor’s sister told him
she recently saw a man
with a pickup truck, trailer
and flashlight around the
neighborhood. Colvard
then spoke by phone with
the neighbor’s sister who
said she saw the suspi
cious man walking around
the previous day. The
neighbor’s sister said the
man was in a truck, pos
sibly a white Ford F-150,
but she couldn’t get a
physical description of the
man because it was dark.
The stolen items were val
ued at about $1,800.

found in vehicle
of Asheville, N.C.
man during stop
A 29-year-old white
Asheville, N.C. man was
arrested and charged with
three counts of possession
of a controlled substance
after chugs were found in
his vehicle during a traffic
stop on 1-75 South on Oct-
27. At about 10:59 a.m.,
Dep. John Thompson saw
a black 2001 Ford Escape
following too closely
behind a gray SUV on 1-75
South near mile marker
191. Thompson saw the
male driver, who displayed
a North Carolina license,
had a nervous twitch in his
right eye. The female pas
senger told Thompson they
were headed to Florida
for vacation. The driver
then asked Thompson
about his day and how
work had been treating
him. Thompson noticed
the driver’s eye was still
twitching and he wouldn’t,
make direct eye contact,
with the deputy. The driv
er told Thompson he didn’t
have anything illegal
inside his vehicle. He said
he was just- pressed for
time. The passenger, the
car’s owner, then handed
Thompson a vape machine
containing wax marijuana.
When Thompson asked if
there was anything else
illegal in the vehicle, the
passenger got- out- and
opened the truck, which
contained a cigar pack
with three rolled mari
juana cigarettes. Both the
driver and passenger
denied having anything
else illegal in their pos
session. Thompson then
searched the vehicle and
found several bags of
mushrooms, several bags
of MDMA, several bags of
marijuana and two strips
of suspected LSD. The
driver told Thompson all of
the drugs belonged to him
and said the passenger,
his fiancee, did not know
about- any of it. The driver
was also charged with fol
lowing too closely and pos
session of marijuana.

A 68-year-old black
Forsyth man was arrested
and charged with posses
sion of marijuana after
a traffic stop on the 1-75
South ramp at- Exit-185
on Oct- 27. At- about-10:19
a.m., Sgt.. Michael Hull
was directing traffic onto
the 1-75 South ramp at
Hwy. 18 while Dep. Jake
Justice was working a
traffic accident. Hull was
approached by a black
2004 Honda Accord. The
male driver cracked his
window and Hull gave
instructions to the driver
of how to continue around
the wreck. When he did
so, Hull smelled the odor
of marijuana coming from
inside the car. Hull then
asked the driver to roll
down his window all the
way, and the driver com
plied. When Hull again
smelled marijuana, he
asked the driver to pull
over. Hull saw the driver
holding something in his
right- hand. When he asked
the driver about- it, he saw
the driver chop a joint..
Hull then searched the
driver’s pockets and found
a paper towel wrapped
around some marijuana.
The driver told Hull he
forgot he had marijuana in
his pocket..

teacher reports
theft of iPhone
6 from restroom
At- about- 4:11 p.m. on
Oct- 27, Dep. Ray Hilliard
went- to Mary Persons
High School where a
female teacher said she
left- her Apple iPhone 6 in
a restroom during lunch
between 12:30 p.m. and 1
p.m. that- day. The teacher
said she later returned to
the rest-room to retrieve
her phone, but- it- was miss
ing. There are no known
suspects or witnesses.
The phone, which was in
a gray and white-colored
Otter Box, was valued at
about- $600.

At- about- 4:17 p.m.
on Oct. 23, Dep. Jake
Justice went- to the Red
Dog Public Safety park
ing lot on Indian Springs
Drive to patrol the area.
According to the report-,
the parking lot- has been
used in the past- as a spot,
for leaving contraband
near the water supply
shed for inmates who work
on special details for A1
Burruss state prison. As
Justice was pat-rolling, he
saw a suspicious black
male walking from the
water supply shed wearing
a dark hat-, dark hoodie,
dark pants and carrying a
brown backpack. Justice
then turned his patrol car
around to meet- with the
man, but the man was
quickly gone from sight-
justice then searched the
area and found two long
black socks buried under
grass. Justice then opened
the socks and found vari
ous contraband inside both
socks.
Darien driver
charged with
drug possession
after 1-75 stop
An 18-year-old white
Darien man was arrested
and charged with posses
sion of met.hamphet.amine
after a traffic stop on
1-75 South on Oct- 25. At
about 3:19 p.m., Dep. John
Thompson saw a blue
2006 Toyota Camry with
an obscured tag frame
traveling on 1-75 North
near mile marker 191.
Thompson smelled mari
juana coming from inside
the car. The male driver
said the car belongs to his
mother and admitted he
didn’t- have a license. The
driver said he was headed
to Illinois to visit- his girl
friend. When Thompson
asked the driver about- the
smell, the driver admitted
to having a small bag of
marijuana in the driver’s
side door but- denied hav
ing anything else illegal
inside the car. While
searching the vehicle,
Thompson found a small
bag of methamphet-amine
next- to the bag of mari
juana. When Thompson
asked the driver about,
the second bag, the driver
responded, ‘That’s not- my
meth. You must- have put.
it- in there.” Sgt- Michael
Hull then took the driver
to the Monroe County
Jail. The driver was also
charged with having an
obscured tag frame and

man reports
damage to
Hyundai Sonata
At about 7:32 p.m. on
Oct- 26, Cpl. Kevin Powell
spoke on the phone with
a Warner Robins man
about property damage
to his vehicle, a rented
2016 Hyundai Sonata,
that occurred at about
noon that day. The man
said he was traveling on
Hwy. 41 South when a
large box came off of a
landscaping truck and hit
his vehicle. The man said
the truck did not stay on
scene, and then he waited
several hours for a deputy
to arrive to take his report-
It- was later determined
that- the man’s initial call
to law enforcement- went- to
the Bibb County Sheriffs
Office rather than the
Monroe County Sheriffs
Office.
Forsyth women
arrested after
fight at Forsyth
Gardens Apts.
A 26-year-old black
Forsyth woman and a
30-year-old black Forsyth
woman were each arrested
and charged with dis
orderly conduct- after a
fight- at- Forsyth Gardens
Apartments on Nov. 1. At
about- 8:25 a.m., Officer
Kimberly Barnett of the
Forsyth Police Department,
went- to Forsyth Gardens
Apartments on Cabaniss
Road where a woman with
cuts around both eyes was
sitting on a bench by the
front- office. Some of the
woman’s hair was laying
on the ground by her feet-

said she was
waiting to leave
for an interview
when another
woman got into
her face and
began argu
ing about- the
other woman’s
boyfriend. The
woman said the
other woman
then hit- her in
the face with
a closed fist-
Bamett then
met- with the
other woman
who said the
woman got into
her face and
asked her if she
had a problem.
She said the
woman then hit
her in the face
with a closed
fist-, which
started a fight-

on the other
woman’s face
or arms and
neither woman
wanted to
press charges.
Barnett then
instructed both
women to stay
away from one
another. Then,
at- about- 9:40
a.m., Barnett
went back
to Forsyth
Gardens
regarding a
second dis
pute between
the same two
women. She
then charged
both women
with disorderly
conduct-

At- about- 2:52
a.m. on Oct- 18,
Officer Wade
Kendrick of the
Forsyth Police Department,
went- to Devi Foods store
on North Lee Street- where
he saw the front- door dam
aged and a broken rock
on the ground. Along with
the store owner, Kendrick
entered the store and
reviewed the camera sur
veillance tape. The video
showed a white four-door
passenger car, believed
to be a Hyundai Elantra,
enter the parking lot- from
the north. The car then
pulled beside the store and
turned around, driving up
next- to the front- door. A
passenger, who appeared
to be a black female wear
ing jeans and a red hoodie
with black hair and a
scarf, got- out- of the car
and took a large rock that
she brought- with her and
tried to bust- the front- door
glass. After she unsuc
cessfully threw the rock
several times, she then
tried to kick the glass door
to break it. When the glass
still didn’t- break, the sus
pect- got- back into the car,
and the driver exited the
parking lot- heading north.
Sgt- Willie Barkley then
notified Kendrick he had
spotted a car matching the
description of the suspects’
car at- Forsyth Gardens
Apartments. The car’s
owner told Barkley he was
at- home at- the time of the
incident- The car’s owner
said he spent- time with his
girlfriend until about-11
p.m. the previous night- at
which point- he went- home.
Kendrick then met- with
the car owner’s girlfriend
at- her Sydney Woods
Drive home. The girlfriend
said after spending time
with the car owner, she
went- to the Circle K on
North Lee Street- to get.
a chink before heading
home, where she had
been ever since. Barkley
then was able to confirm
the girlfriend’s story
with Circle K employees.
The girlfriend also was
not- wearing clothes that-
matched the identity of the
suspect- The car’s owner
said he allows some fam
ily members to use his
car but he did not think
anyone had driven his car
without- his knowledge
that- evening. No charges
were taken against- the car
owner or his girlfriend.
Man faces theft
charges after
stealing check,
mail from box
A 62-year-old white
Macon man faces charges
of theft after he allegedly
stole a piece of mail and
three magazines belong
ing to a Forsyth business
owner on Oct- 31. At- about.
3:57 p.m., Officer Kimberly
Barnett of the Forsyth
Police Department- met.
with a Macon man who
said he hired Forsyth
moving company Ready to
Move to move his mother
out- of her home and into
an assisted living facility
in Macon. While pack
ing items from her home,
several items were to be
shipped to the man’s both
er in California. The man
said his brother was going
out- of the country for sev
eral weeks and he said he
would notify the moving
company when his brother
returned, so that- the items
could be shipped. The man
said his brother returned
about a month ago, and he
contacted the moving com
pany. He said he was told
that the company would
ship the items once they
had a full truck and would
tell him once the items had
been shipped. The man
said in the past- month
both he and his mother
have tried to contact- the
company to try to find out.

are, but- neither has been
able to reach the company.
The man said he then
went- to the business on
North Jackson Street- on
Oct. 31 and walked around
knocking on doors, but- he
could not- locate anyone.
The man said he then
saw a white envelope on
the back door of the busi
ness with writing on it.
The man said he took the
envelope and opened it,
discovering a check for $16
made out- from the moving
company to someone else.
The man said he then took
the check to United Bank,
where he said a bank
employee told him where
the male business owner
lives. The man said he
then went- to the business
owner’s home, where he
opened up the mailbox and
removed three magazines
addressed to the owner’s
wife. Barnett asked the
man why he took the
owner’s mail, and he said
he just- wanted to make
sure he was at- the right-
home. Barnett then left
the owner a message that
she had a check and maga
zines that- belonged to him
at- the police department.
Barnett told the man he
should contact civil court
about- his issues with the
moving company. She also
told him that- his removal
of the check and maga
zines was theft. The owner
then called Barnett on
Nov. 1 and she explained
the situation to him. The
owner said he wanted to
press charges against- the
man.
