January 13, 1942 - November
Jerry A. Carby, of Forsyth, passed
away Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
Funeral services were held Saturday,
Nov. 12 at Monroe County Memorial
Chapel with burial in Monroe
Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ryan Vargas
officiated.
Mr. Carby, the son of the late
William Alvey Carby and Evelyn
Stinson Hillard was born Jan. 13,
1942, in Louisville, Kentucky. He retired from
Brown and Williamson as a Senior Fab Tech and
was a member of the Perry Corvette Club.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Carby of
Forsyth; children, Kimberly (David Gillum) Hulliger
of Macon and Rhonda (Hyatt) Hall of Juliette; sis
ters, Elayne (Lee) Borders of Louisville, Kentucky
and Sherry Moody of Mississippi; brothers, Wayne
(Nancy) Carby of Louisville, Kentucky, David
Carter of Louisville, Kentucky, Kenny Carby of
Mississippi and Craig Carby of Mississippi; grand
children, Ashley, Steven and Kristen Saferight,
Hunter and Madison Lewis; great-grandchild,
Addilynn Saferight; special friends, Lena and
Harold Harbin and Nancy Bloodworth.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to
Crohn’s Foundation of America, 2250 North Druid

Joy Renee Stephens Caswell
July 6, 1955 - November 12, 2016
Joy Renee Stephens Caswell, of Forsyth, passed
away Saturday, November 12, 2016. Funeral ser
vices will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16,
at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial
in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Rev. Franklin
Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet
friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe
County Memorial Chapel.
Renee, the daughter of the late Jefferson Zedock
Stephens and Thelma Ida Ramsey Stephens, was
born July 6, 1955, in Forsyth. Her husband, Marcus
Caswell, preceded her in death. She was a 1973
graduate of Mary Persons High School and was a
healthcare worker.
Survivors include her children, Jonathan Neko
(Nicole) Lundy of Augusta, Justin (Dawn) Lundy of
Daytona Beach, Florida and Marcus (Miyah) Ross of
Cincinnati, Ohio, sisters, Carol Stephens of Macon
and Kathi (Charlie) Hodges of Atlanta; brother,
Jimmy (Ann Childre) Stephens of Forsyth; and six
grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to
The Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, GA
31206.

Jane Clay Keirns
December 30, 1932 - November 13, 2016
Forsyth . . . Jane Clay Keirns, formerly of North
Lewisburg, Ohio, passed away
Sunday, November 13, 2016.
Services and burial will be private.
Mrs. Keirns, the daughter of the
late Paul Clay and Idonna Wren
Clay was born December 30, 1932,
in East Liberty, Ohio. Her son,
James Michael Keirns preceded her
in death. She was employed in the
health care industry.
Survivors include her children,
Jana (Kerry) Sikes of Forsyth, John (Linda) Keirns of
Newark, Delaware and Jay Keirns of Naples, Florida;
sister, Susie (Phil) Peoples of Lewis Center, Ohio; six
grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; numerous
nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers but suggests dona

Johnny Hoyt Kuhn
June 25, 1947 - November 10, 2016
Johnny Hoyt Kuhn, of Forsyth, passed away
Thursday, November 10, 2016. Graveside services
were held Saturday, Nov. 12 at Monroe Memorial
Gardens. Rev. Franklin Etheridge officiated.
Johnny, the son of the late Serris Hoyt Kuhn and
Elva Ozella McClanaham Kuhn was born June 25,
1947, in Dunbar, West Virginia. His wife, Mabel
Kuhn, preceded him in death. He was a retired boil
ermaker and a veteran of the United States Marine
Corps, serving during Vietnam.
Survivors include his children, Dale Gatlin of
Forsyth, Jessie Smith of Barnesville and Gina
Simpkins of Juliette; sister, Brenda Klindt of
Dunbar, West Virginia; six grandchildren; and fif
teen great grandchildren.
