Thanksgiving Thoughts from
Monroe County Middle School
Imagine the perfect Thanksgiving meal
BY ISABELLA DAYTON
Everybody loves a Thanksgiving
meal, especially the perfect one.
The turkey is cooked to perfec
tion. Mashed potatoes and gravy,
green beans or green bean casse
role. Just imagine it!
After saying your prayers, you
really want to dig in. Yummy!
On your plate you have potatoes,
turkey, green beans, bread, and
baked beans. That’s only the
beginning. On the table there’s
meatballs, salad, dressing, corn,
peas, black-eyed peas, spinach
and all that good stuff.
To me that’s the perfect
Thanksgiving dinner. You might
have other things. So, what’s your
perfect Thanksgiving dinner?
Add friends, family & weird relatives
BY MORGAN
CURRIE
What makes a perfect
Thanksgiving dinner?
Store-bought mashed
potatoes? Raw Broccoli?
NO! You need home
made Turkey! Collard
greens! The best mashed
potatoes in your family’s
generations!
You also need family,
friends, weird relatives!
You need company!
It makes memories,
fun, and the Best
Thanksgiving EVER!
Football is great too.
A fun tradition I share
with my family and
friends is playing catch
and football in the yard
right before our amaz
ing fried turkey is done!
Don’t forget the pumpkin
pie! We love a good ol’
pumpkin pie right after
we’ve stuffed ourselves
silly with amazing food!
Whipped cream and cin
namon go great with
that fall taste almost
everyone loves! So what
are you waiting for!?
Go out and make this
the best Thanksgiving
EVER!

Thankgiving makes great memories
BY CAROLINE
CLANCE
For me,
Thanksgiving
is my second
favorite holiday,
because I get to
spend time with
the people I care
about. That is
why I will be
sharing my favor
ite memory of
thanksgiving (My
parents may or
may not remem
ber this).
When I was about
eight
or nine
years-
old, I
was
asleep
when
sud
denly
my
uncle
comes
run
ning
into
Caroline Clance
my
room yelling, “HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!!”
I found myself on the
floor of my room. Then
I got dressed; two of my
friends came into my
room and asked if they
could stay for the night.
Well, it was the week
end so why not let them
stay?
I went downstairs
to see my family. My
brother was sleeping on
the couch; so I poked
him to get him up. Then
I went outside to play
with my cousin, Bella.
We played chase, and
she fell on the hard
ground. We went inside
to eat. We had tur
key, chicken, potatoes,
mac and cheese, and
sweet tea. It was really
good. That was a great
Thanksgiving!
Later I was so tired
I couldn’t get up. After
that day I knew that I
have a great family and
friends. So spend time
with your friends and
family while you can.
Don’t wait until the last
minute.
We have much for which to be thankful

We are thankful for
all of the things we get,
because if it wasn’t for
our parents we really
wouldn’t have anything
right now. We always
have to be thankful
because we have much
more than we have to
have.
We have friends, we
can get friends, we’re
alive, we can walk, we
can talk, we can taste,
we can smell, we can
see, we can hear. We
have a place to live; we
have food and water;
we are just thankful for
everything we get.
We are thankful for
money, freedom, a bed
to sleep in, clean water,
entertainment, learn
ing, air, electricity,
armed forces, waking
up today, clothes, shoes,

With fall comes the time for daylight
