Deputy chases
Honda Prelude
through north
Monroe County
A 29-year-old white
Forsyth man faces mul
tiple charges, including
fleeing or attempting to
elude after a high-speed
chase in North Monroe
County on Jan. 24. At
about 3:50 a.m., C-pl.
Jake Justice saw a silver
2001 Honda Prelude that,
failed to dim its head
lights on Johnstonville
Road. Justice tried to
stop the car but it sped
up and ran a stop sign
before turning onto Rocky
Creek Road. The car con
tinued traveling onto the
dirt, portion of Unionville
Road when it. finally
stopped. The female pas
senger then opened the
passenger side door and
got. out. while the male
driver drove off again.
Justice followed the
car to the intersection
of Unionville and High
Falls roads where the
car took off westbound
before turning around
later and heading east-
bound. During the chase,
in which speeds exceeded
100 mph, the car drove
across a ditch into a front
yard before turning onto
Parker Branch Road
at. which point. Justice
lost, sight, of the car.
Justice then returned to
Unionville Road where he
met. with the passenger
who confirmed the driv
er’s identity. Dispatchers
later notified Justice
that, the car was found
wrecked and abandoned
on Possum Trot Run in
Lamar County. However,
Lamar County deputies
were not. able to locate
the driver. The driver
will also be charged with
failure to dim headlights,
speeding, failure to main
tain lane, reckless driving
and failure to yield to
blue lights.
Man arrested
after allegedly
firing revolver
shots at father
A 29-year-old white
Forsyth man was arrest
ed and charged with
aggravated assault after
he allegedly shot, his gun
at. his father during a
fight, at. a Collins Ridge
Drive home on Jan. 24.
At. about. 3 p.m. on Jan.
24, Sgt.. Michael Hull
arrived at. the home and
saw a white Ford F-150
with a cracked wind
shield and damaged rear
tires pulling out. of the
driveway. Hull stopped
the truck and ordered the
male driver to get. out..
Hull saw a revolver on
the front, seat, as well as
a bag of syringes. Despite
cold temperatures, the
driver was sweating and
was only wearing jeans
and cowboy boots. The
driver told Hull he and
his father had been argu
ing. Hull then searched
the truck and found a
Colt. 38-caliber revolver
with six spent, shell cas
ings. Next, to the revolver
was a brown purse with
three syringes on top
of it. and a clear bag of
suspected met.hamphet-
amine inside of it.. The
driver then told Hull the
drugs belonged to his
girfriend, but. Hull hand
cuffed him anyway. The
driver’s father then told
Hull he was working on
his truck when he saw
someone had engraved
his name into his fuel
tank. The driver’s father
said he suspected his son
had done it., and his son
became agitated. The
father said he then saw
his son walking toward
him with something in
his hand. He said he then
heard several shots fired
and realized his son was
holding a handgun and
was shooting in his direc
tion. The father said he
then retrieved his Smith
and Wesson revolver
from his truck and fired
a warning shot.. The
father said his son then
ran out. of bullets and
the dispute ended. The
driver was then taken
to the Monroe County
Jail, where he was also
charged with possession
of methamphetamine and
possession of a firearm
during the commission of
a felony.

in Dodge Dakota
A 34-year-old white
Jackson man was arrest
ed and charged with pos
session of methamphet-
amine after a traffic stop
on Towaliga River Drive
on Jan. 25. At. about.
4:34 p.m., Dep. Robert.
Rodgers saw a silver
1995 Dodge Dakota driv
ing into the High Falls
Dollar General parking
lot.. Rodgers determined
the truck’s male driver
had an arrest, warrant,
out. of Butts County
and arrested the driver.

Powell then searched the
truck and found a white
Point. Blank bulletproof
vest., a black and brown
Daisy Powerline airsoft.
pistol and a clear bag
with suspected metham-
phetamine. The truck’s
female passenger said
she didn’t, know anything
about, the items in the
truck but. said she over
heard the driver and his
friends talking about, rob
bing people. The driver
then admitted all of the
items belonged to him,
and he was taken to the
Monroe County Jail.
