their 2018 campaigns at
a banquet on April 12 at
Forsyth United Methodist
Church. Boys coach Tracy

Ashmore said MP would
unfortunately not be able
to reschedule it this week,
but he said there is a slight
chance the tourney could
be played sometime next
month prior to the AAAA
state tournament begin
ning May 21.
On April 16, the MP
boys squad placed in a tie
for third out of 10 teams
with a team score of 341 at
the Brickyard Invitational
at the Brickyard Country
Club. The Bulldogs shared
third place with Houston
County, finishing behind
first place FPD and second
place Athens Academy.
Freshman Carson New
berry recorded MP s top in
dividual score of 80. Other
MP counting scores were
posted by junior Steed,
who fired an 83, sopho
more Proctor, who shot 87,
and freshman Knight, who
recorded a 91.
The MP girls also finished
in third place out of five
teams with a team score of
229 at the April 16 Brick
yard tourney. With MP
missing several starters, the
Lady Dogs still mustered
up a solid finish, led by
freshman Molly Poland,
who fired a team best
round of 113. Sophomore
Hughes posted MP s other
counting score of 116.
On April 9, the Lady
Dogs competed in the West
Georgia Girls Classic at La-
Grange, where MP utilized
three counting scores for
a team total of 331. Mean
while, the MP boys squad
competed in the Stratford
Invitational tourney at Idle
Hour Country Club on
April 3, finishing fifth with
a team total of 329.
