Reba Joanne Champion Grubbs
November 11,1938 - December 12, 2021
Just 78 days after she lost her husband of
62 years, Reba Joanne Champion Grubbs
of Senoia, Ga., reunited with him in Heaven
Sunday morning, Dec. 12,2021, after a short
illness.
Bom on Nov. 11,1938, in Dallas, Ga., she
was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother
and dedicated leader within the landscape
of the Georgia health and long-term care
providers community.
She dedicated her life to the health and well-being of oth
ers. She graduated with a degree in nursing from Piedmont
Hospital/Georgia State.
After a family move to Bolingbroke in 1965, she transi
tioned to long-term health care when she became the Direc
tor of Nursing at Bolingreen Nursing Home. From there, her
career focused on the care and well-being of the elderly.
She retired from the Georgia Health Care Association in
Stockbridge, where she was the Vice President of Quality and
Regulatory.
One of her greatest gifts was her ability to be the consum
mate grandmother. Her skills were beyond reproach. During
her 31 years in the role, she perfected giving her four grand
children whatever they wanted. She loved, nurtured, and
doted over each along the way until the end.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gus Champion,
her mother, Lucy Champion, and her husband, Robert C.
Grubbs, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Scott) Cook from
McDonough and her son Robert Crawford Grubbs, Jr (Nata
lie) from Brooks, Ga.
She was the best grandmother ever to Robert C. Grubbs,
III (Kate) from Atlanta, Joshua Ray Gmbbs (Elizabeth) from
Atlanta, Ryan Molock (Katie) of Dallas, and Brielle Elizabeth
Grubbs from Jacksonville, Fla.
She was the great-mother to Jaxon and Taylor Molock of
Dallas, Ga. Although she did not have as much experience in
this role, it was apparent she would excel at it.
For their love, attention, and dedication to the final day, the
family would like to extend their most profound appreciation
to Kindred at Home Health Care, Piedmont Fayette Hospital,
and Sacred Journey Hospice.
On Friday morning, Dec. 17, at 11:30 am, Joanne was
buried beside her husband at Monroe Memorial Gardens on
Ensign Road in Forsyth. It is the final chapter of a story that
will live on for generations to come.
