A Forsyth man was charged
with stealing a motorcycle after
his niece reported he threatened
her on Dec. 16 around 1:19 p.m.
According to the incident report,
a Barnesville woman told Cpl.
Jaleel Brown, who responded to
the call on Lee King Road, her
nephew, William Edward “Ed
die” Hopper, 48, of 127 St. Johns
Road had been staying at her
HOPPER
back surgery.
She told the corporal when her grand
mother returned home, the
house was a mess, and items
were strewn all over the floor. She
added that Hopper had painted
half of the kitchen cabinets white
and had spilled paint all over the
floor. She said she spoke with
him on the phone and told him
1 not to come back to the house.
He replied he was headed back
over there to kill her. She gave
Brown his home address who
grandmothers house while she was having told her to call him if he was to return. He
then left for Hoppers home.
Upon arrival, Brown, and deputy Jeff
Thompson noticed the front slide door
open and secured the perimeter of the
property. They then noticed a red 2016
BMW supported by a cement block, stand
ing next to a damaged shed in the back
yard. The battery from the motorcycle was
removed and the rear seat cover was dam
aged. After running the VIN number listed
on the handlebars, the deputies learned
the bike had been confirmed stolen out of
Macon back in October.
Brown and Thompson then entered and
cleared the house but were unable to find
Hopper. While waiting for a wrecker to
remove the motorcycle, Brown received
a call from Hoppers niece who told him
he had called her and said he was headed
back to the Lee King Road home.
Thompson spotted Hopper on Lee King
Road just south of the complainant’s home
and arrested him for receiving stolen
property. He told deputies he was holding
the bike for a friend for a few days and did
not take it. He was then taken to jail. The
owner of the motorcycle will be notified
after the vehicle has been processed.

pumping the gas when his
coworker stepped out of the
car, pulled a gun on him, and
told him to give him all his
cash. He told Mimbs he gave
him $600 in cash, which was
the company’s money to be
used for hotel and food. The
coworker then told him to
step away from the car and
drove off.
Mimbs asked if the com
pany they work for had any
information on the cowork
er, and he stated they didn’t
keep it on file. Mimbs took
him to a Bass Road hotel
where he said someone was
on the way to pick him up.
The deputy reviewed the
video footage at the Exxon
station where he could see
the pair arriving and chang
ing seats. The video mo
mentarily froze and skips to
the victim removing his bag

SUV leaving south towards
Macon. The manager said
the man came inside and
was asking customers for a
