Loop Road Municipal Solid
Waste Landfill, located at

The Mayor and Council of
District of Monroe County,
and identified as Monroe
County Parcel 054 022A. The
tract of land is contiguous to
the present corporate limits
of the City of Forsyth under
the criteria of Georgia law.
The application requests that
the land be zoned upon an
nexation into the City as R-3
residential and comes to City
Council on recommenda
tion by the Forsyth Planning
& Zoning Commission to
be zoned as R-1 Residen
tial, Detached Single Family,
Low-Density District upon
annexation. The parcel of
land is presently zoned Ag
ricultural A5 under Monroe
County zoning classification.

traveling north
in a white Ford
Ranger on Lee
Street on Dec.
27. According
to the police
report, John
Ashley Dato, 41, of Forsyth
was pulled over
after Maddox ran
the tag on his ve
hicle and discov
ered the pickup
had no insurance
and a suspended
registration.
Dato pulled into
the Advance Auto
Parts parking lot
and immediately
opened the door
and started to
get out when
his truck began
to roll back and
nearly struck
Maddox’s vehicle
before he was
able to apply the
brakes.
Maddox asked
for his license and
Dato nervously
answered he
didn’t have one
and handed the
officer his Geor
gia ID. Maddox
then had him step
from the vehicle
and handcuffed
him for driv
ing without a
license. A glass meth pipe
with residue was
found in his right
front pocket and
a plastic bag con
taining suspected
methamphet-
amine along with
another glass
pipe was found
in his left jacket
pocket. He was
then secured in
the rear of Mad
dox’s patrol car.
Maddox and officer Jerry
Rafferzeder found an ad
ditional glass pipe stashed
with a set of electronic
scales in the front pocket
of a black backpack that
was next to the driver’s seat.
Maddox cited Dato for
having a suspended regis
tration, no insurance, and
driving without a license. A
warrant will also be taken
out on him for trafficking
methamphetamine.

and Nathaniel Persky, and

The request for re-zoning
is that the property be re
zoned from RM (Residential
Multi-Family) to Manufac
turing Industrial (MI), for a
proposed use of the property
as a crypto mining farm and
related uses. The matter was
presented to Forsyth Plan
ning & Zoning Commission
on December 23, 2021, and
a recommendation from P
& Z was for the re-zoning as
requested.
