Holy cup assault, Batman! Waggle charged in hurl
By Steve Reece
stevereece@gmail.com
A 26-year-old Forsyth
man was charged with
battery after throwing
a metal Batman cup
and hitting the head of
his mother’s roommate
around 4:30 p.m. on Jan.
11. According to the
incident report Deputy
Peyton Rodgers answered
the call to a domestic
dispute at 1367 Blount
Road where John Alex
ander Martin told him he
was struck on the head by
his roommates son with
an unknown metal object
after he tried to return
trash to her room. He said
he knocked on the door
of April Michelle Downs
bedroom and asked her
son, Eric Jonathan Wag
gle, 26, to open it when
Waggle threw something
at him. He had a red knot
on his head from the blow
and the deputy had dis
patch call EMS.
Waggle said he
was in his moth
er s bedroom
watching tv on his
phone, when the
incident started.
He said when he
heard banging
on the door he
got scared when
Martin
WAGGLE
tried opening the
door.
He told the
deputy he grabbed
his metal Batman
cup, opened the
door, and tried to
scare Martin so he
would stop bang
ing on the door.
He said he threw
the cup but did
not mean to strike him in
the head. Downs wasn’t
at the home when the in
cident occurred. She was
recently arrested on Jan.
12 for an obscene phone
call. Martin was cleared
by EMS and Waggle was
handcuffed then housed
in the Monroe County
Jail.
