ROBBERS
INCIDENT REPORTS . February 16, 2022
The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Wanted woman arrested for
driving uninsured Lexus
An unlicensed driver with no
insurance, an expired registration
and with a warrant out of Henry
County was stopped in a 2011
Lexus by Forsyth officer Darius
Patterson on Jan. 29. Patterson
did a U-turn after he saw the
woman traveling on North Lee
Street, but she was walking inside
a business by the time he caught
up with her.
The officer waited until the
woman exited the business and
asked her about insurance on the
car and she showed him an email
from Progressive that said her
payments were overdue which
caused cancellation of her policy.
After her warrant was confirmed,
she was jailed.
Man throws beer in
woman's car at Big Chic
A man was charged with
trespassing after throwing beer
in a womans car at Big Chic on
Patrol Road on Jan. 30. When
officer John Bogdan arrived, he
noticed beer cans were visible in
the passenger seat and the smell
of alcohol. There was also liquid
all over the dashboard.
The woman told Bogdan a man
took her keys out of the igni
tion then threw beer in her car.
She said he then got out, walked
around the corner to his home
and got into his truck and drove
north to North Lee Street.
Bogdan searched for the
truck and saw it pass while he
was traveling north and turned
around and followed the truck
into the Big Chic parking lot. The
man admitted he threw the beer
and said he knew he should have
not done that. Bogdan called
the woman who wished to press
charges and the man was hand
cuffed and taken to jail.
Speeding black Audi
escapes the law
A black Audi A7 outran law en
forcement on Jan. 31 around 1:30
a.m. after deputy Charlie Bryson
tried to stop the car on 1-75 S at
mile marker 190 for doing 94
mph. When Bryson activated his
lights the driver accelerated to
over 120 mph.
The vehicle then tried to exit
at Cabaniss Road, but a Forsyth
police patrol car was at the end of
the ramp with blue lights flashing
so the driver continued on the in
terstate speeding up to 130 mph.
He then took the exit at Tiff
College Drive, but Bryson was
unable to follow, and Cpl. Sul
livan, Sgt. Seckinger, and FPD
took up the pursuit. The Audi
made several turns in the city
before turning onto Montpelier
Avenue where the deputies and
the officers lost the vehicle. The
deputies then gave up the chase
due to yet another call regarding
a vehicle pursuit coming out of
Butts County. The Audi was later
found abandoned in a yard in the
Adamsville Park neighborhood.
Driver allegedly points
weapon in road rage
A Vidalia passenger of a pick
up truck who allegedly pointed
a weapon at another driver in a
road rage incident on 1-75 S on
Feb. 1 around 3:26 p.m. found
himself housed in jail after the
vehicle was stopped near mile
marker 190 by deputy Jonathan
Joyner and Cpl. Jaleel Brown.
A BOLO had been issued for a
Ram pickup after a complainant
told dispatch occupants in the
suspect vehicle had pointed an
AK47 at him. A short while later,
the caller said the suspects were
pointing the gun at him again.
The deputies stopped the pick
up and removed a female driver
and male passenger. Both were
handcuffed and a black Smith &
Wesson MP15 was found in the
back seat. The driver told depu
ties that the other driver was be
ing aggressive towards them and
shooting them a middle finger.
She denied pointing a gun at any
one. She said the gun had fallen,
so the 23-year-old passenger
picked it up, put it in his lap then
laid it back down in the seat.
The complainant, of Bonaire,
told Joyner he was behind the
pickup that was going slow in the
fast lane, and he flashed his lights
and blew his horn several times,
trying to get the vehicle to move
to another lane. He said he then
passed the truck which sped up
and caught back up with him. He
said the passenger was holding
what appeared to be some sort
of rifle out of the window and
pointed it at him.
The driver was released, and
the passenger was placed in the
back seat of a patrol vehicle and
taken to jail. A warrant will be
sought against him for pointing a
weapon at another.
Man cited for no insurance
A gray Toyota Camry traveling
south on Lee Street at 1-75 had
its tag checked by officer Richard
Maddox around 2:52 p.m. on
Feb. 3, the driver was found to be
driving with no insurance and
was cited and given a court date.
The man told Maddox he was
insured by Auto-Owners through
the Bunn Agency, but Maddox
called the agency who said the
driver wasn’t insured.
Drunk driver has head-on
collision with parked truck
An intoxicated driver attempted
to pass a parked pickup that was
surrounded by caution cones
with its headlights on but instead
ran head-on into the truck. The
truck owner was at a home on
Jones Street doing yard work and
told officer Shenita Bell around
9:30 p.m. on Feb. 3 he saw the
mans vehicle approaching with
its headlights off. He said the man
smelled of alcohol and left the
scene on foot after the accident.
Bell spoke with the driver who
said he couldn’t stop in time. Bell
could smell alcohol and asked if
he had been drinking to which at
first he denied but eventually ad
mitted to consuming two or three
beers before the accident. His
details of the accident changed
several times while he described
what had happened with slurred
speech. He also tried to give Bell
his license and insurance infor
mation several times after it was
given back to him.
Due to his oversized wrists,
he was unable to be handcuffed
but still was secured in the back
of a patrol car, taken to jail, and
charged with DUI.
Musella drunk driver re
moved from the highways
Deputy Jonathan Joyner
stopped the subject of a BOLO,
a maroon 2015 GMC Acadia
on Feb. 5 around 9:13 and the
driver was arrested after failing a
sobriety test. A complainant said
he witnessed the vehicle failing
to maintain its lane on Hwy. 18
and driving on the wrong side of
the road causing other vehicles to
slam on brakes to avoid a colli
sion. After pulling the GMC over,
Joyner learned its registration was
suspended.
While speaking with the Musel
la driver the deputy noticed she
had very slurred speech, her eyes
were watery, and he could smell
alcohol coming from her person.
Standing in front of his patrol car,
she told him that she drank two
mixed drinks the night before
but had not drunk anything since
then and denied taking any medi
cations.
She agreed to a sobriety test but
said she was unable to perform
the walk and turn test due to a
recent knee surgery. During the
one leg stand portion of the test,
she struggled to maintain bal
ance. A breathalyzer test returned
a high positive reading for alco
hol, and she was handcuffed.
Two and a half Xanax pills were
found in a bottle in her purse and
Forsyth Wrecker Service took
away her car. She was cited for
DUI-less safe alcohol, failure to
maintain lane, and suspended
registration and taken to the
Monroe County Law Enforce
ment Center.
