The Monroe County Middle School baseball team ended
its season with an 8-0 loss to No. 1 seed Gray Station on
Tuesday, April 12.
The young Bulldogs did all they could do, it just wasn’t
enough to overcome the seasoned Hounds. Seventh grad
ers Andrew Snow started for the Dogs and went 2 score
less innings. He was later relieved by fellow 7th grader
Grayson Bennett and 8th grader Evan Walker. The Bull
dogs had two hits on the day, one by 7th grader Bradley
Hendricks and another by 8th grader Bradley Acosta.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 6-4 record and
made the playoff semifinals for the 5th year in a row.
The Bulldog B team finished the season with a record of
5-1. The Dogs defeated Pike, Lamar, Clifton Ridge, Gray
Station, and Ace. The Bulldogs were led at the plate by
7th grader Hunter Norton and on the mound by Andrew
Snow. Snow finished the B team season with 7 consecu
tive hitless innings. Snow and Jackson Redus combined to
no hit Gray Station, coming within one strike of a perfect
game.
