The following sentences
were handed down in Mon
roe County Superior Court
on March 8:
• Alexander Ragland
received 7 years proba
tion, fined $3,000 and was
banned from the Towaliga
Judicial District for distrib
uting marijuana.
• Shaquille Royce Rag
land was sentenced to
7 years probation, fined
$3,000 and was banned
from the Towaliga Judicial
District for distributing
marijuana.
• Emily Michelle Roberts
was given 3 years proba
tion, fined $1,000 and
ordered to serve 80 hours
of community service for
methamphetamine posses
sion.

Two appreciative New
Jersey women who ran
out of gas on 1-75 N near
North Lee Street gave Cpl.
Jeremy Malone hugs after
he responded to the call
of a stranded motorist just
after midnight on April 2.
Malone took the women to
a gas station and after they
purchased a gas container,
had to show them how to
pump gas since there are
no self-service pumps in
New Jersey. They offered
to tip the corporal after
he helped them put the
gas in their car, but he
told them he didn’t accept
tips, so they hugged him
instead. They then went to
the next exit able to fill up
using their new knowledge
on the use of self-service
pumps
• Christopher Jeri Rozier
received 3 years probation
with 13 days to serve and
fined $1,000 for metham
phetamine possession.
• Wendell Scott was
sentenced to 20 years in
prison with 16 to serve
and 10 years probation for
voluntary manslaughter
and possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon.
• Daitwon Ashland Smith
received 5 years probation
and fined $1,000 for dis
tributing Ecstasy and pos
session of a firearm during
commission of a felony.
• Nicole Sahara Smith
was sentenced to 3 years
probation, fined $1,000 and
ordered to serve 80 hours
of community service for
marijuana possession.
• Lee Robert Stanton was
sentenced to 12 months
probation, fined $1,000 and
ordered to serve 40 hours
of community service for
failure to carry license and
marijuana possession.
• James Christopher
Vickers received 2 years
probation, fined $2,000
and was banned from the
Towaliga Judicial District
for methamphetamine pos
session.
• Hendel Victor was given
12 months probation and
fined $500 for marijuana
possession.
• Jonathan Wilkes was
sentenced to 5 years proba
tion, fined $500, ordered
to have no contact with
victim, banned from the
Towaliga Judicial Dis
trict and ordered to serve
80 hours of community
service for battery, family
violence.
• James Williams received
5 years probation for ag
gravated assault. • Demsey
Duron Winslow was sen
tenced to 3 years probation,
fined $1,000, ordered to
serve 80 hours of commu
nity service, and banned
from the Towaliga Judicial
District for methamphet
amine possession.
• Benjamin Bernard
Wright was sentenced to
3 years probation, fined
$1,000 and ordered to serve
80 hours of community
service for drug possession.

Assistant City Manager/Planner
The City of Forsyth is seeking a qualified professional for the position of
Assistant City Manager/Planner, which is responsible for providing
assistance and support to the City Manager including analyzing and
implementing policies and procedures; overseeing intergovernmental
relations in the area of service delivery and legislative issues; and
providing responsible staff assistance to the City Manager, City Council,
and department heads. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (B.A.)
in City, Urban, Regional Planning, or a related field from an accredited
college or university; or three to four years of related experience and/or
training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A
Master's Degree in Planning or a related field is preferred.
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission will receive all application
materials and will conduct the initial screening for this position. Interested
