The following incidents were reported by the Forsyth Police Department
and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.
Man cited for disorderly
conduct at the Union Hill
Apartments
A man was cited for disor
derly conduct after officer Arthur
Musselman responded to a call
about a fight at the Union Hill
Apartments on April 30 around
7:36 a.m. The report was called
in by EMS who was at the scene
with a woman having a seizure.
Musselman spoke with two
female witnesses who told him
a man started to attack verbally
and physically one of the women
when another woman tried to
stop the fight and was knocked to
the ground by the man and began
to have a seizure.
One of the witnesses said she
tried to roll the woman onto her
side to prevent her from asphyxi
ating and the man then punched
her in the face. The man was cited
by Musselman.
Woman charged with disor
derly conduct at Quality Inn
A female guest at the Qual
ity Inn on Hwy. 42 N was taken
to jail after a domestic dispute
around 6:18 p.m. on May 1. Offi
cer John Bogdan and Cpl. Jeremy
Malone responded to the call and
Malone spoke with the woman
in her room while Bogdan spoke
with the male guest and his
mother outside the room.
Malone then came out while
the woman remained inside and
spoke with the mans mother
next to her vehicle while Bogdan
spoke with the man who told
him the woman was his girlfriend
and they were preparing to have
sexual intercourse when they
started to argue, but he could not
tell the officer what they were
arguing about. He said his girl
friend began throwing groceries
outside the room and he could
not calm her down, so he called
his mother for help. When his
mother arrived, all three of them
began to argue.
The man said that his mother
pays for the room, and he has
been staying there. His mother
told Malone she heard them
arguing when her son called her
and heard the woman stating the
lies she would tell to get her son
in trouble. She said she wanted
her charged or removed from the
room.
The woman was then arrested
for disorderly conduct and taken
to the Monroe County Jail where
her dress began coming undone.
A female deputy then took con
trol of her, and she was turned
over to jail staff and charged with
disorderly conduct.
Forsyth woman jailed after
not stopping for school bus
Sgt. Stephen Phipps and deputy
Warren saw a red 2005 Honda
Accord fail to stop for a school
bus that was loading a student
onto the bus between Brentwood
Street and Montpelier Avenue
around 7:13 a.m. on May 12 and
the driver was arrested for mul
tiple charges and taken to jail.
Phipps did a U-turn after spot
ting the infraction and tried to
stop the vehicle using his lights
and siren but the 42-year-old
female driver from Forsyth con
tinued to Freeman Avenue where
Phipps blocked her in. He then
exited his vehicle and drew his
pistol and ordered the woman out
of the car and on to the ground
where she was handcuffed.
It was discovered her 3-year-old
son was not properly buckled
into his child seat and he was
turned over to the womans
brother. Her car was towed by
Mid-Ga Towing Service while she
was taken to jail and charged with
failure to stop for a bus loading
and unloading, failure to yield to
emergency vehicle and a child
seatbelt violation.
Angry front-end loader
operator fired for
damaging property
Cpl. Jaleel Brown and deputy
Ariel Morgan responded to the
rock quarry on Hwy. 19 S in
reference to property damage al
legedly caused by an employee to
a front-end loader on May 12 at
about 1 p.m. Brown met with an
employee who told him his sub
ordinate became very upset after
he stacked a pile of rocks too
high while using a front loader.
The employee stated the man
couldn’t quite move the pile at an
efficient pace and that he went to
his work area with a bigger front
loader to help and instructed him
to switch loaders with him so he
could complete the job.
He said when the operator
exited the loader, he noticed
console was damaged and looked
as if someone had kicked it in an
ger. He then called the company
manager who fired the man on
the spot for the damages. Morgan
climbed into the driver’s com
partment of the loader and took
photos of the damaged console
and provided the employee with a
case number.
Meth found on passenger
of speeding Malibu
A black 2021 Chevrolet Malibu
with three occupants was hitting
99 mph when seen by deputy
Cody Maples near North Lee
Street on 1-75 N around 3:10 a.m.
on May 15 and a 37-year-old
male passenger of West Union
was later cited on drug charges
after a stop near Johnstonville
Road.
Maples immediately noticed the
odor of marijuana when he asked
the driver why he was traveling
at such a high rate of speed. The
driver responded that he was
just trying to get home and the
deputy asked him to step out of
the vehicle and to the front of his
patrol car.
Maples explained that he could
smell marijuana and asked if
there was any inside the vehicle
and the man told him that there
was a small amount inside of the
drivers door. The two passengers
were also asked to step out of
the car, but the male passenger
appeared nervous and was slow
getting out. A female sitting in the
backseat was also moving slowly
and appeared nervous as well. She
told Maples she needed to put
on her shoes on. Meanwhile the
male passenger tried to get back
into the Malibu several times
until told to stay with deputy
Adkins. Maples noticed he kept
placing his hands in and out of
his pockets and after telling him
to keep his hands visible, asked if
he had anything he needed to be
concerned with. The man then
rolled his eyes and exhaled loudly
in frustration while pulling a clear
plastic bag from his right front
pants pocket.
Inside the bag was a white
crystallized, powdery substance
and Maples asked him what he
was. He replied that it was meth
and that the other two occupants
did not know he had it. He was
immediately handcuffed and
secured in the rear of Maples’
patrol car.
A blunt was found in the driver
door handle and a glass pipe with
white residue was also located in
the car. The man was taken to jail
and charged with methamphet-
amine possession and posses
sion of drug-related objects. The
driver was cited for speeding and
was released with the female pas
senger.
Man threatens to kill
another man in front
of law enforcement
An irate man was pacing
around outside a West Main
Street home when officer John
Bogdan responded to a call re
garding property damage around
7:25 p.m. on May 15. He showed
Bogdan a dent on his car on the
driver side fender with a muddy
shoe print in the middle and
several people at the residence
witnessed a man kick the car and
were able to give his name. The
vehicle’s owner then began mak
ing threats, said he had a firearm
in his car, and tried to leave and
go to Hardee’s on North Lee
Street where witnesses said the
man went. Bogdan then called
Cpl. Jeremy Malone to go to
Hardee’s and gave him the man’s
description. Several witnesses
were still trying to calm the car
owner down as Bogdan left for
Hardee’s.
From a photograph, Malone
and Bogdan were able to posi
tively identify the suspect who
was with a large group of people

in the parking lot. He was ar
rested as he was trying to get to
his vehicle.
Then around 8:30 p.m., the man
with the dented fender pulled up
and immediately started threat
ening to kill the man who was
then sitting in the rear of Bog
dan’s patrol car. Maj. Alexander
Daniels tried to calm the man
down, but he insisted he was
going to “tombstone” the man.
It quickly became evident that
he had no intentions of calming
down and tried to get past the
officers to the man secured in the
back of the police car.
Sgt. David Asbell, Malone, and
Daniels then handcuffed him and
placed him in Malone’s car while
he continuously shouted threats
that he was going to kill the other
man. He was charged with mak
ing terroristic threats and a gun
was found in his vehicle. Both
men were taken to the Monroe
County Jail.
Stolen vehicle
abandoned after crash
A citizen notified Sgt. David
Asbell around 7:22 a.m. on May
15 that there was a car wrecked
near the top end of Jones Street.
Asbell responded and found the
vehicle at the intersection of West
Chambers Street and Jones Street
abandoned in the middle of the
street. The car appeared to have
been traveling west on Cham
bers Street when it lost control
attempting to make a right turn
onto Jones Street, causing it to
rim off the road and strike the
corner of a 6’ wooden privacy
fence, flipping on its side and skid
back to the road where it rolled
over into its normal orientation.
The vehicle was reported stolen
later that day to the Bibb County
Sheriff’s Office.
Drugs found on super
speeder during booking
A 48-year-old Austell woman
driving with a suspended license
was stopped and found to be in
possession of cocaine after the tag
on her black 2020 Nissan Versa
was checked by deputy Jonathan
Joyner on 1-75 N near Johnston
ville Road around 3:56 p.m. on
May 15. The driver told Joyner
she was unaware of her suspen
sion due to a super speeder
citation. The deputy had her step
